Queen Street Wharf (Auckland).— ultimo, on warrant for deserting from the ship “ Ruahine, Edward Ward, age twenty-five, height 6 ft., cook, native of England, slight build, pale complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes ; wearing a blue suit (no hat).

Auckland. —7th August last, that he be located and interviewed regarding alleged false pretences, John Godfrey McArthur, alias MacArthur, referred to in Police Gazette, 1944, page 610, and Photographs, 1929, page 30. On above date he obtained a cheque for £ls, No. Z. 881800, drawn on the Bank of New Zealand, Auckland, from Free Grant, care of Western Electric Co. (N.Z.), Ltd., 54 Brunswick Buildings by representing that he was in a position to supply him with a case of whisky which would be delivered the following day.
