Auckland. —Between the 24th and 29th January last, from the State' Advances building, Wellesley Street East, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (State Advances Corporation of New Zealand), a 1940 model 26 Electrolux vacuum-cleaner with accessories, serial No. 1603795, brown leatherette body with bakelite ends, chromium runners, in brown cardboard box with “ Electrolux ” thereon ; value, £lB. Identifiable.

Auckland. —l6th ultimo, from a room in the Queenscliffe Private Hotel, Scotia Place, the property of ELSIE BLANCHE JANE KAY, Tui Glen Motor Camp, Henderson, a ladies’ gold round Swiss wristlet watch, about size of a shilling, white dial, Roman numerals, gold hands, gold expanding wrist-band which has been repaired with gold-coloured cotton ; value, £B. Identifiable.

Auckland.— l6th January last, from a 1939 model Jowett motor-car, the property of ALBERT JOHN SMYTH, Matakohe, a 16 in. pressed-steel light-green wheel; four 525 by 16 tires one of which has been recapped ; and four tubes; total value, £32 10s. Not identifiable. On above date the motor-car was unlawfully removed from St. Benedict’s Street. It was found burning later the same day in Scenic Drive, Oratia, when it was discovered that the property described had been stolen. The car was also damaged to the extent of £2 10s.

Thames. —Between the 18th and 31st January last, from cases consigned from Dunedin to Thames, the property of Dr. GEORGE NEVIL BROWNLEE, Thames Public Hospital, a gold-coloured satin bedspread two pairs of bath towels ; three art-silk tablecloths ; twelve art-silk serviettes ; seven linen supper-cloths, 36 in. by 36 in.; two linen suppercloths, 54 in. by 54 in.; two dressing-table sets ; three linen tray-cloths ; two linen wagon-mats ; a linen dinnerset ; two organdie showers ; two tea-cosies; two crocheted dressing-table sets ; three crocheted doilies ; a crocheted tray-cloth ; two crocheted table centres; six crocheted place mats ; and an E.P.N.S. jam-spoon, butter-knife, sugar-spoon, and bread-fork; total value, £sl 17s. 6d. Supper-cloths identifiable.

Carterton. — the 11th and 15th ultimo, from the dwelling of MURIEL MAY LORENZEN, Brooklyn Road, a ladies’ gold square Cromwell wristlet watch with scalloped corners, round white dial, black hands, Arabic numerals, hinge soldered to case, gold expanding wrist-band ; and a gold engagement ring, set with a large diamond in centre with two graduated diamonds on each side of it in diagonal setting ; total value, £49. Identifiable.

Blenheim. Between May, 1941, and December last, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Army * Department), a -303 calibre. Identifiable.

Christchurch. the 10th February last, the dwelling of ANDREW KYLE, Flat 2, 64 Dean Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A safe (recovered); £330 in money made up of a £SO note and the remainder in £lO, £5, and £1 notes ; and about 5 oz. of fine alluvial gold in bottle about 4 in. long ; total value, £370. Not identifiable. The following day the safe was recovered from a paddock at North Brighton.

Dunedin. —l7th February last, from the dwelling of NORMAN LESLIE WILLIAMS, 12 De Carle Street, £7 4s. in money. The offence may have been committed by a Man (name unknown), age about thirty-seven, height about 5 ft. 4 in., strong build ; wearing a blue-grey suit with white stripes, and brown felt hat; waddling gait. He was seen leaving complainant’s dwelling about the time the offence was committed.
