Devonport. — Leslie Arthur Warner, absent from Navy, has been arrested by the Avondale police. (See Police Gazette, 1945, page 179.)

Auckland.— Thomas Boyle Dennis, convicted (see Police Gazette, 1944, page 762): On 28th ultimo, the Court of Appeal varied the sentences of “ 6 months on each (cumulative) ” to “ 6 months on one charge to be cumulative upon sentence of 2 years,” and “ 6 months on 3 charges (concurrent),” so that the total' sentences are reduced from “ 4 years’ H.L.” to “2£ years’ H.L.” All copies of the Police Gazette are to be amended accordingly.

Auckland. Alan Nesbit, alias Alan William Dixon, convicted (see Police Gazette, 1945, page 64): On 28th ultimo, the Court of Appeal varied the sentence of “ 4 years’ H.L. and 1 year’s R.D.” to “ 3 years’ H.L.” All copies of the Police Gazette are to be amended accordingly.
