Christchurch. — Bth instant, for a breach of his probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Edward Hesketh, referred to in Police Gazette, 1944, page 837, and Photographs, page 75. He has failed to report to a Probation Officer, and his arrest is desired. He may endeavour to leave the Dominion.
Dunedin. —4th or sth ultimo, for unlawfully converting to his own use, a Dodge motor-truck (recovered),, value, £4O the property of Ronald. Walter McLay, 28 Albert Street, Robert Grey (name probably fictitious), age about twenty, height about 5 ft. 6 in., soldier, slight build, dark complexion and hair ; wearing battle-dress and peaked hat with red and khaki pugaree. The truck was unlawfully removed from outside complainant’s dwelling, and at about 2.50 a.m. on sth ultimo the man described was seen driving the truck. He was stopped by a constable (who was unaware that the truck was being unlawfully used), whom he informed that the truck was the property of his father, and that his name was “ Robert Grey, 657 Castle Street.” No warrant.
