Auckland.— the 7th and 15th July last, the dwelling of MARGOT LAURA JUKES, Cook Street, Howick, was broken into and the following stolen : A five-valve all-wave Phillips radio, serial No. 650 A, in dark-brown bakelite cabinet 24 in. by 18 in. by 12 in., three wooden control knobs; and a light-grey three-piece sports suit, fit man about sft. 5 in.; total value, £3O. Identifiable except money. The recovered property was found in a swamp in Shore Road, Remuera, on 7th September last.

The offence may have been committed by Two Men (names unknown) —(1) Height about 5 ft. 8 in., stout build, dark complexion, hair, and eyes; wearing a blue-grey worsted suit with light stripes and felt hat; quietly spoken. (2) Height about 5 ft. 10 in., slight build, pale complexion, dark hair and eyes ; wearing a dark suit. They were in the shop during the afternoon of 7th ultimo, when they endeavoured to purchase the violin. kb.
