Wanganui. — l9th ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Olive Kathleen Taylor, 2 Somme Parade, William Harold Taylor, alias Hugh MacDonald, age fifty-one, height 5 ft. 71 in., milk-bar manager, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes, ballet girl on chest, two hearts in wreath and birth-mark on left arm ; usually wears a navy-blue suit; pleasant disposition. Palmerston North. —26th ultimo, on two warrants of commitment to Wellington Prison for four days and two days, in default of paying £2 2s. fines and costs for drunkenness and casting offensive matter, Edwin Francis Hurley, referred to in Police Gazette, 1943, page 157, and PhotoB „ P h S . 1928, page 58.

Petone. —l7th ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, Harold Avery Clayton, referred to in Police Gazette, 1944, page 575, and Photographs, 1943, page 82 ; wearing a grey suit and hat and brown shoes ; fond of drink. He obtained £5 in money from Thomas Joseph Walsh, licensee, Grand National Hotel, by means of a valueless cheque for that amount, No. A. 863456, drawn on the Bank of New Zealand, Lower Hutt, in favour of T. Nelson. —28th ultimo, on two warrants for failing to comply with the terms of maintenance orders for the support of his wife and six children, Lawrence Rossiter, age thirty-one, height 5 ft. in., labourer and hawker, native of New Zealand, slight build, fresh complexion, brown hair and eyes, brown spot on left eye, leaf and “ Mary ” on left forearm, anchor and “ N.Z.” on right forearm ; slightly stooping gait. Christchurch. —Between the 9th and 11th March last, for theft of a clothes-basket and parts of a motor-car (recovered), value £5, the property of Avril Madeline Elwood, 317 Ferry Road, James William Burton, referred to in Police Gazette, 1944, page 93, and Photographs, 1938, page 14. About 3rd March last he called on complainant and informed her that he desired to buy some parts of her motor-car which was parked on her section, but he was told to call again. Subsequently, in company with another man whom he informed that he had purchased the car for £2, he removed some parts from the car and later removed other parts and carried them in the clothes-basket to a garage at 69 Bordesley Street, from where they were recovered. He left this Dominion as a member of the crew of the ship “ William Beaumont ”on 9th May last. No warrant.

Dunedin. 2lst ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Paparua Prison for three days in default of paying £4 balance of fine and costs for being in possession of opium, Ming Lee, referred to in Police Gazette, 1944, page 156.
