Henderson.— 30th November last and 4th ultimo, from a motor-car between Henderson and Te Awamutu, the property of RICHARD THOMAS WILKINSON, Station Road, a -22 calibre single-shot long-barrel Winchester rifle, model 67, No. 66 and acid mark on barrel; value, £4. Identifiable.

Auckland.— 22nd or 23rd November last, from the dwelling of ALEXANDER MITCHELL, 51 Lingarth Street, Remuera, a ladies’ silver Titan wristlet watch, about f in. by \ in., “ To Dolly, Love, Alex ” on back, small moir wristband with silver clasps. ; and £l7 10s. in money ; total value, £33 10s. Watch identifiable.

Auckland. —9th December last, from the dwelling of FLORENCE ROSALINE PETERS, 7 Railway Street, Newmarket, a handbag, two small purses, an Auckland Savings-bank book, and a ration-book (recovered); a ladies’ gold old dress ring, set with rubies and pearls in diamond- setting, value £SO ; a ladies’ gold old dress ring, set with a large pearl in centre and smaller pearl on each side of it in straight claw setting, value £4O ; a gentlemen’s gold wide dress ring, originally set with three stones, but one is now missing; an ebony and silver crucifix, 1| in. by 1 in.; a ladies’ gold round Rolex wristlet watch, about 1 in. in diameter, Roman numerals, gold narrow expanding wrist-band ; and £22 10s. in money ; total value, £156 2s. 6d. Identifiable except money. The recovered property was found in the railways yard at Newmarket on 15th ultimo.

Auckland. l3th or 14th December last, from the person of ARTHUR BRUNSDEN, 4 Lower Symonds Street, a £lO note ; a gentlemen’s 18 ct. gold Swiss hunting pocket stop-watch, white dial, black hands, Roman numerals; an 18 ct. gold fetter and oval curb, chain; an 18 ct. gold oval miniature football with “A. 8.” on it; a silver Maltese Cross with “A. Brunsden ”on it; an 18 ct. gold wide wedding ring ; wallet; gold locket and chain ; and sundry papers ; total value, £62 10s. On the night of the 13th December last, complainant attended a party at 52 Wynyard Street, and was in the company of James Verdi Gestro, referred to in Police Gazette, 1944, page 119, and Photographs, 1937, page 60, and Michael Ernest McGann, referred to in Police Gazette, 1944, page 957 amPT I holographs, 1943, page 61. While at the party McGann danced and wrestled with the complainant, and it is desired that he and his associate Gestro be interviewed regarding the offence. The wallet, locket and chain, and sundry papers were found in Wvnyard street - 3&&ml-3k/AA.

Auckland. —15th or 16th December last, from the basement of St. Mark’s Hall, Remuera Road, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Army Department), a -303 calibre Short Magazine Lee-Enfield rifle, body and bolt Nos. 19901, butt No. 404; and eight thousand rounds of -22 calibre ammunition ; total value, £29. Rifle identifiable.

Auckland. —29th December last, from the person of Corporal KENNETH BAUM GARTNER, United States Army 39th General Hospital, Green Lane, a gentlemen’s rolled-gold oblong Bulova wristlet-watch, gold Arabic numerals, “ K.F.8.” on back, gold link wrist-band ; and a small brown leather fold-over wallet with “K.F.8.” on back, containing £1 10s. in notes and identification papers ; total value, £l6 10s. Identifiable except money. The complainant was assaulted and robbed in Cook Street by two men. The offence may have been committed by James Broughton, referred to in Police Gazette, 1943, page 138, and Harry Waitai. They have been interviewed, but no evidence resulted,

Onehunga. About the Ist December last, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Army Department), a -22 calibre Ivor Johnson single-shot rifle, No. 52989 ; value, £2 Bs. 6d. Identifiable. The rifle, which was on issue to the local Home Guard, was either lost or stolen.

Havelock North. Between the 28th November last and 10th December, from the dwelling of WILLIAM ERIC WARD, Crosses Road, a seven-valve dual-wave Courtenay radio chassis (short-wave not in working order), No. 76585, model 38, Edgelit dial; value, £2O. Identifiable.

Woodvtlle. 27th December last, from the dwelling of Mr. Klien, Papatawa, the property of MYRTLE PEEK, 54a Severn Street, Island Bay, a gold ring, set with three diamonds in diagonal claw setting ; value, £2O. Identifiable.

Palmerston North. 29th December last, from the pavilion at the Linton Street tennis courts, the property of Sergeant HAROLD BRYDON HARVEY, Hataitai Park Military Camp, a gentlemen’s chrome-steel Sagara wristlet watch, luminous dial, “ H. B. Harvey, P.D.C. Basketball Teams, 1940 ” on back, leather wrist-strap with cover ; value, £l4 14s. Identifiable.

Wellington. Between the 19th July last and 25th ultimo, from the store of A. M. Satterthwaite and Co., Akatea Street, Berhampore, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Ministry of Supply Department), 10,349$ yd. of grey domestic flannel, similar to that used in Army singlets, 28 in. wide in bolts about 55 yd. ; total value, £1,099 12s.
