Wellington. 3oth ultimo, on two warrants of commitment to Wellington Prison for four days and ten days in default of paying £2 10s. and £3 10s. fines and costs for obscene language and obstructing the police, Allen Owen Barton, referred to in Police Gazette, 1943, page 505.

Wellington. Between 7th and 11th June last, for theft from a dwelling at Blue Mountains, the property of Evelina Charman Woodward, 121 Vivian Street, Huia Kent, referred to in Police Gazette, 1943, page 39. When, located the Superintendent of Police, Wellington, is to be immediately advised, when steps will be taken to have him interviewed regarding this and other offences. Description of property stolen : A crystal receiving-set; a pillow-case ; two pairs of radio-earphones ; a rug; and a hurricane lamp (all recovered); total value, £6 ss. No warrant.

Wellington. Kenneth Williamson, failing to pay fine and costs (see Police Gazette, 1943, page 440) : It has been ascertained that his correct name is Kenneth Jeffree Williams.

Christchurch.— 3oth June last, for a breach of his probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Max Selwyn Christiansen, referred to in Police Gazette, 1943, page 105. He has failed to make restitution. An information has been laid, and his arrest is desired. No warrant. ’

Dunedin. —loth ultimo, for theft of a bicycle (recovered), value £l4, the property of Neil Lamont Bishop, 144 Somerville Street, Eric James Hutchinson (name probably fictitious), age about nineteen, height 5 ft. 4 in., slight build, clear complexion, wavy fair hair ; wearing a dark-grey suit (no hat) ; tidy appearance. On the above date the bicycle was stolen from the railway-station and sold for £7 to a dealer by a man of the above description. No warrant. "
