NEW Governor-General ORDER IN COUNCIL At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of * Present: ‘ • ■ His Excellency the ’Governor-General in Council ; Pursuant to the Motor-vehicles Act, 1924, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby make the following regulations.

REGULATIONS

1. These regulations may be cited as the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, Amendment No. 1. 2. These regulations shall be read together with and form part of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940* (hereinafter .called the principal regulations). * ' • : 3. These regulations shall come into force on the twenty-eighth day after notification in the Gazette of the making hereof. 4. Regulation 6 of the principal regulations is hereby amended as follows — 7 - ... 7. . 7 -7

(a) By adding to the heading thereof the words “ and Motor- . • omnibuses ” : •• - . ... ....... A ... ' ( b ) By adding, after the word “ taxicab ” whenever it occurs, the words “or motor-omnibus ”: : . ' : (c) By adding, after the words “ revoked as regards taxicabs ” in ; clause (2) ; thereof, the words “or motor-omnibuses,'as the ; case may be ” : (d) By adding at the end thereof the following clause : “ (8) It shall be a . condition of any license issued to a ■' i/ woman to drive 1 a taxicab that the license shall not authorize . ... . . . the driving ;of a taxicab at any period of time between half an hour after sunset ,on one day and one hour before sunrise on the next day.” 5. Regulation 14 of the principal regulations is hereby amended by inserting therein, next after-clause (2), the following-clause : “ (2a) No person being the holder of a motor-driver’s. license shall part with possession of that license in order that it may be used by any other person.” ■ V \ :
