Borre Torgrim Johansen. Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). —15th ultimo, on warrant for entering into New Zealand without a permit, Borre Torgrim Johansen, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 9 in., seaman, native of Norway, light-brown hair, blue eyes. On the above date he deserted from the ship “ Pan Scandia.”

Newton. —Bth instant, on warrant for theft of the articles described below, value £8 12s. 6d., the property of William Joseph Andrews, 15 Collingwood Street, Ponsonby, Allan Ewart Jones, referred to in Police Gazette, 1941, page 494, and Photographs, 1939, page 60. He was dressed in a darkgrey shabby suit and tan shoes (no hat.) The property was stolen from complainant’s home where offender stayed on the nights of the 6th and 7th instant, and it is alleged that he attempted to sell the stolen property. Description : A rose-pink satin double bedspread, shirred on sides and at one end, cord beading on each side of panel ; a rose-pink double bolster to match bedspread ; and an old dark-brown leather suit-case, about 30 in. by 18 in., “ A. He was on remand to appear at Court on the 16th instant for breaking, entering, and theft.

Auckland. —24th January last, on warrant for breaking and entering the shop of Alfred John Tanner, 1218 Great North Road, Point Chevalier, and stealing a quantity of tobacco and cigarettes and four hair-clippers of the total value of £SO 10s., Francis Henry Gordon Guilford, referred to in Police Gazette, 1943, page 46, and Photographs, 1938, page 9, wearing a blue suit with dark stripes, an air-force blue shirt with collar, and tan shoes (no hat). Between 6.30 p.m. and 7.40 p.m. on the 21st ultimo he escaped from the Police lock-up. ■
