PERSONS WANTED.

Borre Torgrim Johansen. Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). —15th ultimo, on warrant for entering into New Zealand without a permit, Borre Torgrim Johansen, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 9 in., seaman, native of Norway, light-brown hair, blue eyes. On the above date he deserted from the ship “ Pan Scandia.”

Newton. —Bth instant, on warrant for theft of the articles described below, value £8 12s. 6d., the property of William Joseph Andrews, 15 Collingwood Street, Ponsonby, Allan Ewart Jones, referred to in Police Gazette, 1941, page 494, and Photographs, 1939, page 60. He was dressed in a darkgrey shabby suit and tan shoes (no hat.) The property was stolen from complainant’s home where offender stayed on the nights of the 6th and 7th instant, and it is alleged that he attempted to sell the stolen property. Description : A rose-pink satin double bedspread, shirred on sides and at one end, cord beading on each side of panel ; a rose-pink double bolster to match bedspread ; and an old dark-brown leather suit-case, about 30 in. by 18 in., “ A. J. Cook ” on it. There are other charges pending. » /<?-/• f-3

Auckland. —25th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month for selling liquor without a license, Richard Kenneth Robinson, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 9 in., slaughterman, native of New Zealand, medium build, sallow complexion, brown hair, grey eyes. „ P /r /<n. f'

Papakura. —6th instant, on warrant for a breach of his probation (Crimes Amendment Act, 1910), Harry Boyce Lauder, referred to in Police Gazette, 1943, page 92, and Photographs, 1939, page 90. Hamilton. —l3th instant, on warrant for breaking out of the Police lock-up, Clifford Fox, referred to in Police Gazette, 1943, page 130, and Photographs, 1940, page 88. He may be wearing a brown coat and trousers with white stripes about 1 in. apart. He is suffering from venereal disease, and may seek medical attention. He was on remand to appear at Court on the 16th instant for breaking, entering, and theft.

Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). About 30th November last, on warrant for deserting from the ; ship “ Port Adelaide,” Robert Hunter Weatherstone, age eighteen, steward, native of England. . . 0 xt-

Auckland. —24th January last, on warrant for breaking and entering the shop of Alfred John Tanner, 1218 Great North Road, Point Chevalier, and stealing a quantity of tobacco and cigarettes and four hair-clippers of the total value of £SO 10s., Francis Henry Gordon Guilford, referred to in Police Gazette, 1943, page 46, and Photographs, 1938, page 9, wearing a blue suit with dark stripes, an air-force blue shirt with collar, and tan shoes (no hat). Between 6.30 p.m. and 7.40 p.m. on the 21st ultimo he escaped from the Police lock-up. ■

' New Plymouth.—2nd December last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months in default of paying £lO3 10s. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife and child, Harry White, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 243, and Photographs, page 40. ,/tA */ IV'

Wellington.—l3th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for three months in default of paying £145 15s. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Walter David Fisher, referred to in Police Gazette, 1942, page 587, and Photographs, 1939, page 41. There is also a warrant of distress for the amount of £1 15s. to be executed on his effects. , y. e /~z^

Christchurch.—4th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Paparua Prison for four days in default of paying £1 11s. 4d. fine and costs for being illegally on premises without intent, Ernest Walton Rivers, referred to in Police Gazette, 1942, page 968.
