PROPERTY STOLEN.

Auckland. —Between the 13th and 26th September last, from a dwelling at Silverdale, the property of WILLIAM HENRY WOOD, 7 Rangitoto Terrace, Devonport, a pair of white woollen double blankets, Roslyn brand, blue band at each end; two light woollen tartan rugs, one green with blue lines, one green with red lines; a mandolin in black case; a Vest Pocket Kodak autograph camera, bellows patched with black adhesive tape, contained in leather case; total value, £l3 10s. Identifiable. The offence may have been committed by Fred Jenkins, alias Frank Jenkins, age about thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 9 in., truck-driver, slight build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, hazel eyes, hooked nose, natural teeth with several gold-filled in front, shot-wounds in one leg, speaks quietly, stooping gait. He was employed on complainant’s farm and occupied two rooms in the dwelling, but disappeared suddenly.

Auckland. the 27th or 28th November last, the shop of BERTHA ROBERTSON, draper, 26 Wairere Avenue, Mount Albert, was broken into and the following stolen: A ladies’ gold round Moeris wristlet watch, Arabic numerals, “ 8.5.” and date inside case, elastic strap attached; a set of Chinese silk pyjamas with orange-coloured stripes, “ W ” size; two sets of children’s silk pyjamas with pink, green, and blue stripes; a quantity of lace; seventeen pairs of dark Tassie socks, sizes 10 in. to 11 in.; six double sheets; six three-quarter size sheets ; two Kabe nightgowns, one white and one blue, size “W”; total value, £29 11s. 6d. Portion identifiable.

Auckland. —9th ultimo, from a cloak-room at the Modern School of Dressmaking, Dilworth Buildings, Customs Street, the property of GLADYS MAUD PAGE, Eastcliffe Road, Castor Bay, a black leather handbag, 10 in. by 8 in., chromium frame with clip-fastener, two handles, small purse attached to side ; a ladies’ gold hexagonal-shaped wristlet watch, about 1 in. in diameter, black Arabic numerals with gold band between them and on centre of dial, black ribbon wrist-band ; £lO 18s. sd. in money; a cheque for £5, drawn on the Bank of New Zealand, Christchurch, by J. B. Page, marked “Not Negotiable ” ; a cheque-book on the Bank of New Zealand containing unused forms, Nos. X. 311537-544 ; a Blackbird fountain-pen; a yellow metal powder- pact; a green enamel cigarette-case ; a red and white penknife; a small brown leather purse ; three keys ; and the following articles each of which has complainant’s name and address on it: A driver’s license issued by the Takapuna Borough Council; a widow’s pension paper ; an identity disc ; a Castor Bay warden’s E.P.S. arm-band, No. 26228 ; and an identity card ; total value, £l2 18s. sd. Identifiable except money.

Manurewa. —22nd or 23rd ultimo, from a cow-shed, the property of WILLIAM BASIL WOOD, Great South Road, a -22 calibre single-shot Savage rifle, model 3, No. 3354; value, £1 10s. Identifiable.

Waihi. —2nd instant, from the Waihi Beach Cabaret, the property of GEORGE JAMES BROWN, Masters Avenue, Hillcrest, Hamilton, a valve or seven-valve black steel Philco amplifier similar to radio chassis, 14 in. by 10 in. by 7 in. with If in. base, two speaker plugs on right side of control knob and on left side are two V-shaped plated lugs for gramophone pick-up ; value, £lB. Identifiable.

Hamilton. —29th October last, from a bedroom attached to the Cheerio Cafe, High Street, Frank ton Junction, the property of STANLEY JOHANSEN, a gentlemen’s silver open-face Omega pocket watch, two chips out of dial, black ribbon-guard with gold bar, short gold chain, and a medal with “ L.J. 1931 ” on it attached ; and a black leather foldover wallet, containing a Fijian penny and halfpenny, two receipts in complainant’s name, and an address of “John Gilchrist ” ; total value, £lO ss. Identifiable. The offence may have been committed by James Gilbert Courtney, age /l thirty-four, height 5 ft. 4 in., stable hand, native of New Zealand, slight build, sallow complexion, dark hair, brown 4 eyes, portion of one forefinger missing ; a half-caste Chinese; wearing battle dress. At about 2 p.m. on above date he called at the cafe and requested to be supplied with a meal, but was informed that he was too late, and he was later discovered in one of the bedrooms when he stated that he had visited all the rooms in search of the kitchen. Hamilton. — ultimo, from the dwelling of Dr. ALEXANDER GOULD WADDELL, 102 Victoria Street, a suit; a fountain-pen; a pencil; a cigarette-lighter; and five £5 notes (recovered); a large silver curved cigarette-case with “ A.G.W.” on back, catch slightly defective; and £2 17s. in money ; total value, £44 7s.
