Auckland. 22nd or 23rd April last, from the dwelling of the REV. ROBERT GEORG® COATS, 1 Vincent Street, a black fountain-pen, gold band with “ Rev. R. G. Coats ” engraved on it; a silver-mounted crystal communion winebottle, about 4 in. high, octagonal shape, silver screw top ; a three-cell nickel torch ; a light-blue shirt with grey stripes, size 5 ; a set of gold buttons; a gold chain with pendant set with pearls and amethysts ; several tie-pins and trinkets ; three packets of ivory-tipped De Reszke cigarettes; and £3 15s. 6d. in money, contained in an envelope with “ Pengelly-Bates wedding, 23rd May, 5.15 p.m., fees paid,” written on it; total value, £l2 4s. 2d. Auckland. — 9th ultimo, from a counter in Wool worths, Ltd., Queen Street, the property of JUSTINA FORSYTH, 9 Ferncroft Street, £35 cash; a cheque for £2 10s., No. 287201, drawn on the Bank of Australasia, Wanganui, in favour of J. Forsyth, and signed “ J. Forsyth,” dated the 23rd March last; a 9 ct. gold bracelet, alternate pearls and garnets in claw setting, snap fastener and safety chain; a brown crocodile leather purse, 12 in. by 7 in. by 2 in., chromium frame, snap fastener ; and a fire-insurance policy for £l5O with the South British Insurance Co., in complainant’s name ; total value, £42 15s. Identifiable.

New Plymouth. —l9th ultimo, from the dwelling of MARY ELLEN BARRETT, Upper Carrington Road, a ladies’ gold signet ring, “ W.M.8.” engraved on it; a 9 ct. gold signet ring; and an. alarm clock; total value, £ll. Identifiable. The offence may have been committed by Peter Stanley Cottlngham, referred to in Police Gazette, 1942, page 371, and Photographs, 1936, page 22, and following paragraph. There have been other similar offences in New Plymouth, and in one instance a man of Cottingham’s description was seen riding a bicycle near the scene of the offence. He is said to be wearing a light-coloured sports coat, dark trousers, and dark cap.

The offender may be Peter Stanley Cottlngham, referred to in preceding paragraph, and Photographs, 1936, page 22. ,

Wellington.— v; -'thr'2fst April last and 21st ultimo, from a motor-car in Lambton Quay, the property of FELIX PATRICK ANTHONY CAMPBELL, 528 High Street, Lower Hutt, a Kodak Junior camera of folding type, black leatherette case with chromium fittings, takes 120 film; and a brown leather wallet, 6 in. by 4 in., containing petrol coupons Nos. 14 to 36, and sundry papers ; total value, £9. Wellington. —Between the 16th and 22nd ultimo, the property of CLAUDE ELISHA MILES, 32 Buller Street, a dark-green wooden, tail-board, 42 in. long and 14 in, wide ; a white canvas tarpaulin, 12 ft. by 10 ft. with brass eyelets ; and a collapsible wooden frame for tarpaulin ; total value, £2O. Complainant’s motor-truck was unlawfully removed from Buller Street, and when it was recovered in Woburn Road, Lower Hutt, it was discovered that the property described had been stolen.
