PROPERTY STOLEN.

Auckland. 26th ultimo, from a room in the Central Hotel, Victoria Street, the property of ETHEL KATE WILLIAMS, a suit-case; two purses; and a jewel-box (recovered); a large light-brown leather handbag with “ E.K.W.” on outside, large strap handles, gold-coloured fastener, three compartments and small pocket with zip-fastener; £3 in money; a light- composition jewel-box, 4 in. by 4 in. by in., white silk lining, with Carrington’s, Jewellers, Regent Street, London,” on it; a platinum brooch in shape of bow, set with three large diamonds and numerous smaller diamonds, about 2 in. long, small piece of platinum suspended from centre, value £156 ; a gold narrow ring, set with a large diamond in centre with two diamonds on each side of it in straight gold claw setting, value £4O; a gold ring with two diamonds in oblique claw setting, value £25 ; a platinum eternity wedding ring, set with diamonds right around it, value £SO; a platinum bar-brooch, about 2 in. long with boss in centre about in. wide which is platinum set with diamonds and emeralds, value £25; a pair of diamond and pearl ear-rings with about five stones on each,’ value £2O; a necklace of graduated cultured pearls, 18 in. long, largest pearl about size of a pea, diamond clasp, value £SO; a ladies’ platinum wristlet watch about size of a shilling, grey Arabic numerals, studded with diamonds the largest ones being near where wrist-strap joins, value £6O ; a gold granny chain of alternate long narrow and small round links, gold pencil about 1 in. long attached with “ S.J.N.” thereon, value, £lO ; a gold ring, sot with a blue Australian solitaire opal in gold setting, value £5; and two clips of paste diamonds in shape of heart, imitation silver setting; total value, £469 15s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Woman (name unknown), age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 4 in., slight build, dark complexion, black hair, large black eyes, straight nose ; dressed in a mid-blue lambs-wool overcoat and black shoes (no hat); appeared to be a quartercaste Maori; neat appearance. She was drinking with two men in the lounge and was later seen to go upstairs, and shortly after leave the hotel carrying complainant’s suit-case. Later the same day the recovered property, together with a ladies’ fawn rubber overcoat, was found in the porch of St. Patrick’s Church, Wyndham Street.

Auckland. —On the 28th March last, the countinghouse of SAM WHITE AND SON was broken into and the following stolen: Two gentlemen’s rolled-gold double-case Elgin watches, probably Roman numerals; a gold medal with crossed lacrosse sticks, “ S. H. White ” and a date about 1900 on back; and eight keys on ring ; total value, £lO 10s. Identifiable.

Auckland. —4th ultimo, from a room in the Salvation Army Working Men’s Home, Lome Street, the property of WILLIAM JOHN CECIL RUST, a gentlemen’s light grey-brown tweed overcoat of herringbone pattern, size 5, George Boyce, Ltd.” brand at neck, dark-brown lining and a gentlemen’s silver oblong 15-jewel Swiss wristlet watch, Arabic numerals, brown leather strap with nickelplated buckle; total value, £5. Identifiable.

Wellington. —On the 15th April last, the dwelling of ERNEST SAMUEL KNIGHT, 40 Evans Bay Road, was broken into and the following stolen: About three two-bar gold brooches, 2£ in. long, red or white stone in centre; a ladies’ gold Baume wristlet watch, gold-coloured dial, Arabic numerals; and about twenty French, American, and German coins each about size of a florin; total value, £23 15s. Watch identifiable.

Blenheim. — 16th April last, from the Woodbourne Aerodrome, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Air Department), fifteen pairs of blue cotton combination overalls, size 7 ; a pair of speaking tubes ; and four earphones marked “ A/crown, M 10a/7063 ” ; total value, £l2 7s. sd. Earphones Identifiable.

Christchurch.- — 26th February last and sth March, from the Rink Taxis Garage, Armagh Street, the property of CHARLES BEGG AND CO., LTD., 243 High Street, a model 722 Philco radio, about 30 in. long and 18 in. high, serial No. 3102 ; value, £3O 9s. Identifiable.

Christchurch. Between the 2nd and 7th April last, the garage of JAMES DILLON, Rolleston, was broken into and the following stolen: A £ in. heavy duty portable Wolf electric drill, type N.W. 4c., fitted with three-jaw chuck, value, £18; a Hoffman blow-lamp, quart size, small chip off top of burner ; a pinch-bar about 3 ft. long, made from car axle; and al2 in. Crescent wrench with cross centrepunched in handle; total value, £2O 15s. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —4th April last, from the Caledonian Hall, Kilmore Street, the property of DOROTHY GOODALL, 51 Nicholls Street, a ladies’ dark-brown fur coat, probably Belgian rabbit, three-quarter size, Van Dyke cut, brown V-figured lining, left shoulder seam worn, complainant’s name and "address on tape sewn in pocket ; value, £l3 13s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Woman (name unknown), age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 7 in., medium build, curly black hair, who was seen to leave the hall with a coat similar to the one described. Another coat of similar description was left in its place.

Christchurch. —On 30th April last, the dwelling of CECIL RICHARD BUNKER, 183 Clyde Road, Fendalton, was broken into and the following stolen: A gentlemen’s silver hunting Moeris pocket watch, “ C.R.8.” on front case; a rose-pink shot taffeta evening frock, tight-fitting bodice, full skirt and puffed sleeves; a red velvet semievening frock, long sleeves, V neck; and five pairs of silk stockings ; total value, £22 12s. Identifiable except stockings.
