Auckland. —26th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for six months in default of paying £206 Bs. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, John William Pye, referred to in Police Gazette, 1942, page 174, and Photographs, 1930, page 21. He may be released on payment of £25.

Auckland. — ultimo, on two warrants of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months and one month in default of paying £l7 10s. arrears on maintenance orders for the support of his wife and three children, Laurence Keith Harrison, alias Lawrence Keith Harrison, referred to in Police Gazette, 1941, page 226, and Photographs, 1926, page 95. He may be released on payment of £lO.

Johnsonville. — For escaping from Porirua Mental Hospital on the 22nd ultimo, Jack Rangi Aonui, age seventeen, height 5 ft. 5J in., labourer, Maori, good build, copper complexion, black hair, brown eyes ; dressed in a grey coat, grey pullover, light-blue shirt, black shoes, and grey check scarf (no hat); erect gait.

Johnsonville. For escaping from Porirua Mental Hospital on the 4th instant, Peter Stanley Cottingham, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 31 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes, small scar on right arm and palm and above right knee, deformed nose; dressed in a grey overcoat, blue coat, grey trousers, blue shirt, and black shoes. Wellington. — Robert Gordon Bell, failing to report for military service (see Police Gazette, 1942, page 311), left this Dominion as a member of the crew of the ship “ Hauraki.”

Wellington. — Clegg, default of fine and costs (see Police Gazette, 1942, page 212) : It has now been ascertained that his correct name is Joseph Clegg.

Amberley. —l7th instant, on warrant of commitment to Paparua Prison for three months in default of paying £123 15s. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife and two children, John Francis Wooster, alias Frederick Wooster, referred to in Police Gazette, 1941, page 728. Wearing a grey suit and hat; fond of drink ; talkative.

Christchurch. — 3rd January last, that a summons for casting offensive matter may be served upon him, William Thomas Smith, age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 8 in., butcher and freezing worker, strong build, fresh complexion, fair hair. , , - i , <ft 1.l i t

Dunedin. —16th instant, on warrant to apprehend for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his three children, Leslie Joseph Hams, age thirty-one, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer and machinist, nation-'of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, hazel eyes, two small scars on centre of forehead; usually well dressed;, frequents hotels and billiard-rooms. Dunedin. — 14th January last, on warrant for theft of £l7, the property of Cyril Augustus Stark, chemist, 124 High Street (l) Robert Emmett Burrowes. referred to in Police Gazette, 1942, page 212, and Photographs, 1937, page 32. (2) Stanley Hammond, referred to in Police Gazette, 1942, page 212. The complainant ordered a Foresome Remington electric shaver from Burrowes, and on above date Hammond informed him that he had two shavers in Auckland which he offered for £l7, but requested payment at once to enable him to obtain delivery and the shavers would be received by the complainant on the 19th January last. Mr. Stark paid Hammond £l7 by cheque which was cashed the same day. The shavers have not been received. ,

Nightcaps. -16th instant, on warrant of commitment to Invercargill Prison for seven days in default of paying £3 6s. fine and costs for being found on licensed premises during prohibited hours, Samue!
