Auckland. —23rd. ultimo, that he may be located with a view to interviewing him regarding alleged false pretences, George O’Neill, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 38, and Photographs, 1936, page 62. When located he is not to be interviewed until the file has been received from the Superintendent of Police, Auckland.

Gisborne.— 27th February last, on warrant for breaking and entering the shop of John Douglas Clark, butcher, Te Karaka, and stealing 7s. 6d. in money, William Haronga, alias Rogers, age about fifteen, height 5 ft., labourer, Maori, medium build, copper complexion, black hair, brown eyes; wearing black trousers, green coat, and black overcoat (no hat); erect gait. He failed to appear at the Children’s Court in answer to a summons. .

Raetiht. — February last, on warrant for theft of a cheque for £4B, the property of Herbert Punch, farmer, Ohakune Road, J. Adair, age thirty-two, height 6 ft. 1 in., painter, native of Australia, strong build, dark complexion, long black hair; dressed in a light-grey suit, black patent leather shoes (no hat). He may be identical with James Adair, referred to in Police Gazette, 1939, page 181. Accused was employed painting complainant’s house, and the cheque was stolen from the latter’s sitting-room. It was drawn for £4B by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. in favour of J. Adair, to whom it would have been paid when the contract for painting the house was completed. On the 20th February last Adair had the cheque cashed by Urwin and Drury, outfitters, Seddon Street, where he bought a shirt and a tie for 13s. and disappeared.

Palmerston North. —26th ultimo, that he may be located and interviewed regarding the paternity of Gloria Rose Dixon, born on the 22nd December last, Jim Courtenay, age about thirty-three, height about 5 ft. 4 in., stableman, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark complexion and hair; usually dressed in grey sports trousers, blue sports coat, and tan shoes; a half-caste Chinese. He frequents racing stables and Maori pas. In April, 1940, Courtenay was employed by Luke Wilson, horse-trainer, Awapuni, and the mother of the child, Mary Helen Dixon, who is mentally weak and is separated from her husband, was employed by Mrs. Wilson. . . / ; /

Wellington.— Bth ultimo, on warrant for unlawfully landing in New Zealand—(l) Lou Fou, age thirty-nine, fireman, native of China, scar on bridge of nose. (2) Cheng Chu, age twenty-nine, fireman, native of China, slight scar near nose. A reward of £2O is offered for the arrest of each.

Wellington.— February last, for unlawfully converting to his own use a motor-car, the property of Maurice William Harvey, 35 Matai Road, Hataitai, Harold James Kelly, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 49, and Photographs, page 24. During the night of the 21st February last the motor-car was unlawfully taken from Matai Road and abandoned in Ngahauranga Gorge where it was recovered next day. On the 24th February last another motor-car, the property of John Barraud Blundell, 23 Burnell Avenue, was unlawfully taken from Lambton Quay and later recovered, and Kelly referred to above is suspected of being the offender. Christchurch. —6th ultimo, on warrant to apprehend for failing to maintain his wife, Audrey Lola Harrison, and child, 280 Stanmore Road, John Patrick Harrison, age twenty-four, height 6 ft. 1 in., labourer and railway porter, native of New Zealand, medium build, olive complexion, wavy dark hair, hazel eyes, large nose ; usually wears sports coat and trousers (no hat); frequents racecources.

Timaru. — ultimo, for false pretences, Wilson (name probably fictitious), who is believed to be identical with Arthur McKeever, referred to in Police Gazette, 1941, page 256, and Photographs, 1922, page 104. He was wearing a navy-blue suit and dark felt hat. Accused obtained groceries, value 12s. lid., and £9 ss. Id. in money from Albert Edward Smith, grocer, King Street, Temuka, by means of a valueless cheque for £9 18s., drawn on the Bank of Australasia, Temuka, in favour of W. Wilson, and signed “C. MacKenzie.” He had previously obtained ' the cheque-form referred to and another from Edward Gordon Hancox, boot-repairer, King Street, Temuka. Wo warrant.

Invercargill.— l9th ultimo, on three warrants of commitment to Invercargill Prison for three weeks, two days, and two days in default of paying £l3 3s. fine and costs for supplying false information in breach of the Rental Vehicle Regulations and driving a motor-vehicle without having a driver’s license (two charges), James Peter Joseph Kelly, referred to in Police Gazette, 1941, page 384.
