PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland. —14th March last, for theft of a bicycle (recovered), value £3, the property of Jessie Turner, Luke Street, Otahuhu, M. Roberts (name probably fictitious), age about thirty- height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, ruddy complexion, fair hair; dressed in a grey-green suit (no hat); converses about horseracing ; good appearance; plausible. On above date the bicycle was sold to a second-hand dealer in Otahuhu for £1 ss. by the man described. He may be identical with W. Nelson, referred to in following paragraph. No warrant.

Nelson (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, stout build, fresh complexion, wavy brown hair ; dressed in a brown suit (no vest or hat); plausible. On the above date the bicycle was sold to a secondhand dealer for £2 by the man described. He may be identical with M. Roberts, referred to in preceding paragraph. No warrant.

Auckland. —Ist instant, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £3O Bs. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his son, Leslie George Webley, age about thirty-nine, height 5 ft. 5 in., motor-driver, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, fair hair, blue eyes. He may be released on payment of £5. The warrant is not to be executed if he is a member of the Armed Forces within the meaning of the Arrest (Armed Forces) Emergency Regulations. Auckland. — lsth instant, that he may be located and the Department of Labour notified of his whereabouts, John Jeffrey Trigg, age thirty, height 5 ft. 5 in., painter, native of England, strong build, curly hair; said to have communistic tendencies. Otahuhu. —l2th instant, on warrant for a breach of his probation (Crimes Amendment Act, 1910), Henry Ernest Sterling, alias Henry Darrell Barnaby, referred to in Police Gazette, 1941, page 235, and Photographs, 1928, page 29. He has failed to report to a Probation Officer.

Tauranga. 7th instant, on warrant to apprehend for failing to maintain his wife, Ivy Little, and two children, Mount Maunganui, Robert Douglas Little, age forty, height 5 ft. 41 in., carpenter and builder, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, wavy black hair, hazel eyes; dressed in an airforce-blue suit, white silk shirt, and black shoes (no hat.). His photograph is filed.

Auckland.— -Ist instant, on warrant of commitment to Paparua Prison for two months in default of paying £3l 15s. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Rosa Isabella Dempsey, William Dempsey, age forty-one, height 6 ft. 4 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark complexion, curly black hair, blue eyes, broad nose, small mouth, large ears. Gd. costs, Thomas John Knutsen, age fifty-five, height 5 ft. 0£ in., labourer and bushman, native of Norway, medium build, fair complexion and hair, blue eyes, anchor, woman’s head and heart on right forearm, tattoo-marks on back of left hand, inclined to be hunch-backed ; frequents hotels. Dannevirke.— sth instant, on warrant for obtaining credit by fraud, Charles Olsen, alias John Charles Allen Olsen, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 947, and Photographs, 1939, page 99. In incurring a debt of £l2 for taxi-hire from Dannevirke to Wellington, he obtained credit from Kenneth Arthur Wall, taxi-proprietor, Mangatera, by fraudulently representing that he had the money to pay for it. Olsen recently opened an account in the Bank of New South Wales, Dannevirke, by depositing £2, and on the sth instant when the account showed a credit of 16s. 4d., he issued a cheque for £l2 to complainant. Palmerston North. —13th ultimo, for a breach of his probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Jack James John Garfield Paterson, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 527, and 1941, page 183. He has failed to report to a Probation Officer, and his arrest is desired.

Wellington. —l6th instant, that he be located, Robert Hamilton McLachlan, alias Frederick Ellis, referred to in Police Gazette, 1941, page 93, and Photographs, 1916, page 59.
