PROPERTY STOLEN.

Auckland. During the night of 26th February last, the service-station of SAMUEL SIDNEY NICHOLL, 448 Bominion Road, was broken into and the following stolen : Petrol-coupons for 517 gallons ; and some personal papers (recovered) ; a gentlemen’s 9 ct. gold dress ring, set with an oval opal about the size of a sixpence in gold setting with four opal chips on each end and three diamond chips on each side, value, £25. Identifiable ; and petrol-coupons for 63 gallons. The recovered coupons and papers were found in some bushes at the rear of the service-station.

Auckland. —About the 11th March last, the property of KIMA HAKARAIA, Maori Reinforcement on service overseas, a gentlemen’s rolled-gold square wristlet watch, “ P7/41 ” on inside back case, “ Ivima No. 62382 ” on back, radium dial; value, £3. On the 10th March last the watch wqs posted at Ohinemutu to complainant at Papakura Military Camp, but it failed to reach its destination.

Auckland. During the night of 15th March last, from a motor-car in Park Avenue, Grafton, the property of MERVYN MAX COOMBES, care of Hallenstein Bros., Hawera, two reddish-brown Henselite bowls, standard size, “ N.Z.B.A. 1938 942 R.” stamped on each ; value, £6. Identifiable.

Auckland. —On the 29th March last, the shop of E. LE ROY, LTD., 81 Queen Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A gentlemen’s nickel-plated open-face Carna railway lever watch, second-hand missing, repair No. 5929 scratched on inside back case ; and 7d. in money; total value, £1 10s. 7d. Auckland. ultimo, from clothing in a locker at 97 Federal Street, the property of JOHN VICTOR RIDDELL, .20 Chester Avenue, Westmere, five £1 notes ; a chromiumplated oblong Majex wristlet watch, curved to fit wrist, luminous numerals “ 11 ” being slightly scratched, “ Majex ” on dial; jeweller’s No. T. 138 scratched on inside back case, dark-brown leather strap; total value, £9 10s. Watch identifiable.

Auckland. —7th ultimo, from a room in the Clarendon Hotel, the property of JACK DOUGLAS, barman, a gentlemen’s chromium-plated hexagon-shaped wristlet watch about l-£ in. in diameter, light-yellow round dial, luminous Arabic numerals, break in glass from numerals 9 to 3, “ J. Douglas, Clarendon Hotel, Auck.” engraved on back case, brown leather strap ; value, £8 Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Michael Frederick Carroll Bryan, referred to in Police Gazette, 1937, page 449. Auckland.—During the night of 14th February last, from the premises of the AUCKLAND LAUNDRY, LTD., a pair of cream-coloured flannel trousers, 42 in. waist with two straps at side for tightening, no buttons for braces or loops for belt; a grey worsted suit coat of herringbone ..pattern with dark-grey silk lining which is torn inside breast pocket; an air-force blue suit with dark stripes about 1£ in. apart, pleats and fob pocket in trousers ; a pair of grey worsted trousers with pale-red stripes about 1| in. apart; a ladies’ air-force blue full-length overcoat, Peter Pan collar, puff sleeves, flared style, fastens with hook at collar, stitching in five rows down front; a navy-blue serge suit, Hugh Wright’s tag on inside breast pocket, black art-silk lining, small hole in one vest pocket; a double-bed white Marcella quilt figured with chrysanthemums; a ladies’ fur-fabric nigger-brown full-length overcoat, double-breasted reveres, single-breasted front, s.w. size, brown floral-silk lining ; a frock of floral marocain in rust, magenta, white, and blue colours, three-quarter length sleeves, w. size, V neck, and short-waisted coatee of same material with full-length sleeves ; two half-length white linen dentists’ coats, size 40 in., “ T.N.K.” on back of neck, buttoned with braided frogs ; a white linen nurses’ uniform-smock, high collar, buttoned over with pearl buttons, “ T.N.K.” at back of neck; twenty-four white surgery towels, some with red borders, 18 in. by 12 in., branded “L. N. Noakes ” ; and two white hand towels, 42 in. by 24 in.; total value, £44 Bs. Identifiable.

Te Awamutu.3oth March last, the property of FLORENCE PARRACK, Alexandra Street, a ladies’ light-grey envelope-style hand-bag, dome fastener, about 10 in. by 5 in. ; containing about 15s. in money ; a cheque-book on the Bank of New South Wales, Te Awamutu, containing cheques Nos. 065491 to 065520; a credit note from J. Court, Ltd., Auckland, for 4s. ; divorce papers and other documents ; a powder-compact with map of Hawaii on outside; total value, about £1 Is. 6d. Complainant lost her handbag and contents.

Te Kuiti. —9th ultimo, from a motor-car in Rora Street, the property of ALLAN GOWAN McGOWAN, Fernleigh, Symonds Street, Auckland, a gentlemen’s long doublebreasted heavy English tweed fawn overcoat with brown stripes, purchased in The Strand, London, lining in arm-pits has been resewn with lighter linen thread, handkerchief and match pockets inside right pocket; value £lO. Identifiable.

Bulls. —Between the 4th and 7th ultimo, from a shed at a dwelling in the course of construction, Sanson, the property of WILLIAM HENRY SEWARD, 25 Albert Street, Palmerston North, and another, a | cwt. each of 4 in. and 2\ in. nails ; a hatchet; a wrecking-bar ;a 66 ft. tape measure ; a ratchet brace ; two sets of bits ; a mitre square ; a 1185 automatic drill; and a quantity of other carpenter’s tools ; total value, about £ll. Portion identifiable.

Wellington. —Between the 16th and 22nd February last, a hut at Big Bay, between Sinclair Head and Makara, the property of BENJAMIN WALTER WRIGHT, 52 Wellington Road, was broken into and the following stolen : A fourvalve battery wireless set, three-ply dark-brown case about 18 in. by 8 in., three knobs and dial on front; a light-oak-coloured 9 in. cube box containing two 45 V. Burgess batteries ; a light-oak-coloured piece of three-ply, about 36 in. by 24 in., to which is affixed a 7 in. magnet speaker ; and a gentlemen’s chromium-plated wristlet watch, green hands and numerals, black leather strap ; total value, £ll.
