Emergency Reserve Corps Regulations 1940.— Impressment of 303 Rifles. Pursuant to Regulation 7b of the Emergency Reserve Corps Regulations 1940 (Serial Number 1940 (188), as amended by the Emergency Reserve Corps Regulations 1940, Amendment No. 1 (Serial Number 1941/33), the Minister of National Service doth hereby require every person who is the owner of any rifle of -303 inch calibre of whatsoever make, design, or pattern, or who has any such firearm in his possession or control, to deliver such firearm to the officer in charge at the police-station nearest to the place of residence of such person on or before the 15th day of May, 1941. Dated at Wellington, this 30th day of April, 1941. R. Semple, Minister of National Service.

The Defence Emergency Regulations 1939, Amendment No. Appointment of Authorized Officers. In pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by the Defence Emergency Regulations 1939, Amendment No. 1, I, Frederick Jones, Minister of Defence, do hereby appoint the officers who, for the time being, hold the appointments named in the Schedule hereunder, to be Authorized Officers for the purpose of the Defence Emergency Regulations 1939, and amendments.

In terms of Regulation 4 of the Pedestrian-crossing and Safety-zone Regulations 1939 (hereinafter referred to as the “ said regulations ”), the Minister of Transport does hereby approve the type of pedestrian-crossing described in the Schedule hereto as an authorized pedestrian-crossing for use in a street along which tram rails are laid, provided that the crossing is constructed of permanent materials.

SCHEDULE. A pedestrian-crossing of the type described in Diagram No. 3 in the Schedule to the said regulations, save that where the crossing extends across that portion of the street which carries the tram rails the material or surface of* the area between the lines of the crossing need not be of a colour to contrast with the colour of the adjacent roadway as prescribed by clause (4) of Regulation 4 of the said regulations.
