Auckland. —10th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £224 10s. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Kare Wirihana Watana, Walter Watana, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 365. Hamilton.— instant, on warrant to apprehend for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his two children, Guy Hatton Arthur, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 596. Rotorua. lsth instant, on warrant for a breach of his probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), George Harold Cook, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 622, and Photographs, 1936, page 30. He has failed to report to a Probation Officer, and has also failed to make restitution.

Wanganui.— Douglas Charles Russ, failing to maintain (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 913) : Advice has been received that he is now living in Brisbane, Australia. (P. 38/90.)

Foxton. —15th instant, on warrant to apprehend for failing to maintain his wife, Ann McGlone, and four children, Manawatu Heads, Christopher Nicholas McGlone, age fortyfive, height 5 ft. in., farmer and seaman, native of New'-'' v " Zealand, slight build, sallow complexion, brown hair turning „ . grey, hazel eyes, clasped hands on left forearm. About five months ago he signed on the ship “ Empire Trader ” for England.

Wellington. —l9th November last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for two months in default of paying Is. balance of fine and costs for being intoxicated in charge of a motor-car, David Buckland, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 815. The fine and costs amounted to £2B Is., but he remitted from Grey Lynn Post-office to the S.M. Court, Wellington, a money-order for £2B, leaving a balance of Is. When located a receipt for £2B is to be delivered to him. , _ , / t

Wellington. sth ultimo, for theft of a watch and chain (recovered), value, £3 55., the property of the estate of Richard Gumming Kebbell, Park Avenue, William Stanley,

age about fifty, height 5 ft. 9 in., cook ana labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, hair turning grey, long nose, tattooed on arms, may have “ Truth ” tattooed on back of right wrist; dressed in a dark suit with pronounced stripes, grey felt hat, and brown tweed overcoat. He helped to remove furniture from the late Mr. Kebbell’s house from which the property was stolen, and next day he pawned the stolen articles. He may be identical with -"■"William Robert Stanley, referred to in Police Gazette, 1938, page 590. No warrant.

Wellington. 2oth instant, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for twenty-one days in default of paying £ll fine and costs for publishing a double chart, John Wallace, age fifty-five, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of Australia, ruddy complexion, grey hair, blue eyes.

Timaru. Between the 6th and 13th ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, Robert Kirkness, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 570, and Photographs, 1932, page 43. He obtained paint, stain, and enamel, value £3 3s. 6d., from the Canterbury Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Beswick Street, by falsely representing that the property was for Mary Duffy. Accused had been staying with the latter, and she paid the above-mentioned firm £ls for paint for her house which Kirkness agreed to paint. He procured further paint and stain, &c., from the firm and had them charged to Mary Huffy’s account, but he used them to paint other hou “ 9 ' -6/yt&7 ted/ */*/*.
