Auckland. —15th ultimo, on two warrants to apprehend for failing to comply with the terms of maintenance orders for the support of his wife and two children, Hugh McKsbbift, age thirty-seven, height about 5 ft. 8 in., farm-manager, medium build, dark complexion and hair, dark-brown eyes, heavy eyebrows, scar above right eye and on upper part of forehead, ankles broken; usually dressed in a brown suit and brown shoes. Arrears to 2nd ultimo, £llO 10s. When arrested the Social Security Department, Auckland, is to be advised, and he may be brought before the nearest Court.

Accused admitted to complainant that he had unlawfully converted the car and had stolen a battery from it. He has since disappeared from his employment, and he is in possession of a green Morris 8 roadster motor-car with black mudguards and canvas top. . . cf/w/yo.

Wellington. 2oth June last, on warrant for obtaining credit by fraud, lan Charles Tennant, age forty-two, height 5 ft. 8£ in., native of Australia, good build, ruddy complexion, brown hair turning grey, light-brown eyes, scars on right shoulder, well educated; good appearance; represented himself to be an optician. Accused engaged John Henry Page, taxi-proprietor, to drive him about the city, and incurred a debt of £2 12s. for his fare. He also borrowed £2 Bs. in money from complainant, and in payment of the debt he gave Page a valulcss cheque for £5 drawn on the Bank of New South Wales in favour of cash, and signed “ I C Icnnant ” xwuatA

Wellington. 4th instant, on warrant for unlawfully converting to his own use a Morris motor-car, value £175, the property of Dominion Motors, Ltd., Lawrence Kendrick, age nineteen, height 5 ft. 4£ in., hosiery operator, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, two moles on right side of face, mole on right side of neck. On the sth June last he was brought before the Court at Wellington on the above charge and the case was adjourned to 4th September, but he failed to appear. Nelson. — 3rd instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Isabel Peters Manson, and six children, Wakapuaka Road, John Harwood Manson, age twenty-nine, height about 5 ft. 5j in., lorry-driver, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark sallow complexion, black hair, blue-grey eyes, sharp nose, natural teeth, one upper tooth gold-filled, small burn-scar in middle of forehead; dressed in a bottlegreen suit with pin stripes, green-grey tie, green socks, and black shoes; frequents hotels and dance-halls. He may assume the name Bailey. His photograph is filed. He left Nelson accompanied by Mrs. Clarice E. J. Swan, alias Briggs, age twenty-four, tall, good build, fair hair; well dressed. They may be living as man and wife. There is also a summons for dangerous driving to be served on Manson.

Nelson. — 19th ultimo, on two warrants to apprehend for failing to comply with the terms of maintenance orders for the support of his wife and two children, Allan James Gardiner, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 433 ; he is usually dressed in a light-grey suit. Arrears to 9th ultimo, £157. He was paid off the ship “ Waipahi ” at Lyttelton on the sth ultimo, and he may obtain employment on the ship “ Tees.”
