APPREHENSIONS, PERSONS FOUND, ETC.

Auckland. George Thomas Wheatcroft, alias George Whitford, referred to in Police Gazette, 1930, page 207, and Photographs, 1920, page 54, died at Auckland on 13th ultimo.

Auckland.— Alexander Mcßae, alias Alexander Johnston Macßae, default of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 165.)

Auckland. Edward Lawrence Joseph McGovern, summons for: The summons has been served by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 845.)

Auckland.— lvan John Slakich, default of maintenance, has paid the arrears to the Hamilton police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 355.)

Auckland.— E. M. F. Electric Co. countinghouse broken into : William Hendry, alias Toru, referred to in Police Gazette, 1939, page 937, William Hagger,' referred to in Police Gazette, 1939, page 962, and Edward George Smith, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 342, have been interviewed by the Auckland police, and they admitted the offence, but the stolen property has not been recovered. Huntly.— Edward Samuel Muller, missing, was found drowned in the Waikato River, Tuakau, on the 23rd ultimo. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 369.)

OroTiKT.— Kennedy Lawson, default of balance of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Mercer police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 261.)

Eltham.— Herbert Stanley Walton, theft, has been interviewed by the Auckland police, and he admitted the offences, but the watch and money have not been recovered. He is identical with Alfred Sydney Buckley, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 404. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 91.)

Napier.— Owen Mulholland, referred to in Police Gazette, 1939, page 725, died in the Napier Public Hospital on the 29th ultimo.

Upper Hutt.— Clarence Reedham Berney, alias Harry Clarence Berney, inquired for, has been interviewed by the Levin police. (See Police. Gazette, 1939, page 216.)

Wellington. James Arthur Nickless, alias Snowy ” Nickless, alias J. Mason, failing to maintain: Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1938 pages 676 and 783.)

Wellington. — Alexander Kyle, indecent assault, has been arrested by the Auckland police. He is identical with Alexander Kyle, alias McKay, referred to in Police Gazette, 1032, page 613. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 634.)

Wellington.—Andrew Adam Briggs, default of maintenance, has been arrested by the Dcvonport police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 290.)

Wellington.— John Alexander O’Donnell, default of restitution, has paid tho amount to tho North Dunedin police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 420.)

Christchurch. Frederick Sydney Blogg, convicted (see Police Gazette, 1940, page 414): At a rehearing on the 22nd ultimo tho charge of theft was dismissed under tho Justices of the Peace Act. All copies of the Police Gazette are to be amended accordingly.

Oamaru. — San Alexander McKay, default of maintenance, has been arrested by the Upper Hutt police. (See Police Gazette, 1933, page 602.)

Invercargill. — George Williamson, false pretences, has been arrested by the Christchurch police, and he admitted the offence. He is identical with James Hastings Hampstead. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 404.)
