APPREHENSIONS, PERSONS FOUND, ETC.

Auckland. William Cant, alias Jackson, referred to in Police Gazette, 1938, page 469, died at Auckland on 30th Max-ch last under the name William Dand Cant.

Auckland. — Stanley James Sneddon, default of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Newton police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 335.)

Auckland.— Keith Herbert Batty, default of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Whangarci police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 314.) t

Auckland.— Sefton Thomas Cecil Kirby, inquired for, has been interviewed by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 42.)

Morrinsville.— John Cecil Rust, alias William Simms, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Putaruru Police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 261.)

Te Awamutu. — David Hinton, attempted theft, has been arrested by the Morrinsville police. (Sec Police Gazette, 1940, page 355.)

Hawera. — Edward Conrad, breach of probation, has been dealt with for this offence at Te Awamutu. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 978.)

Wanganui.— C. Whitehead, theft: Randall James Ferguson, referred to in Police Gazette, 1939, page 294, and Photographs, 1937, page 67, has been arrested by the Wanganui police and convicted of this offence. The accordian has been recovered. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 367.)

Wanganui. Eric John Robertson Ludlow, default of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Waipawa police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 403.)

Wellington.— Cornelius Patrick Rees, deserting from Royal Air Force : Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 338.)

Wharf (Wellington). — J. Doyle, ship-desertion, has been arrested, _by the Wellington police. His correct name is James Joseph Doyle. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 155.)

Amberley. -James Henry Hughes, convicted of being intoxicated in charge of motor-car (see Police Gazette, 1939, page 591) : On the 15th instant the period of disqualification imposed on him under the Motor-vehicles Act was reduced from “21/7/42” to “21/7/40.” He was also prohibited under the Licensing Act. All copies of the Police Gazette are to be amended accordingly.

Kaiapoi. — Blyth Leslie Scott, failing to maintain : Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 118.)

Christchurch. — Joseph Patrick Dolan, inquired for, has been interviewed by the Tuatapere police. His correct name is Patrick Joseph Dolan. (See Police Gazette, 1936, page 242.)

Christchurch. — Bill Williams, suspected of arson, has been arrested by the Darfield police on another charge. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 966.)

Christchurch. — Patrick Stanley Harkins, alias Jack Armstrong* missing, has been located and interviewed by the Raglan police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 63.)

Dunedin. — James Kirkman, alias Turner, escaping from mental hospital, has been located by the Timaru police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 404.)

Dunedin. — W. Mclvor, alias Arthur McKcever, false pretences, has been arrested by the Kaitangata police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 979.)

Invercargill. — Ronald Noel Mahan, breach of probation : No further action is to be taken. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 336.)
