Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). 22nd January last, on warrant for unlawfully landing in New Zealand being prohibited immigrants (l),Karl Bertil Johansson, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 8 in., ship’s motorman, native of Sweden, medium build, pale complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, full face; dressed in a suit of very light material; speaks very little English ; he has venereal disease. (2) Johan Edvard Eriksson, age fifty-four, height 5 ft. 8 in., shi|V» Inotorman, native of Sweden, thin build, medium complexion, grey hair; dressed in a grey suit; speaks good /English. Mount Roskill. —4th January last, for wilfully breaking one hundred and sixty panes of glass in dwellings under construction, value £46, the property of the Residential Construction Co., Nelson Street, Auckland, two youths (names unknown) —(1) Age about seventeen, height about 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair ; dressed in a light-grey tweed suit. (2) Age about seventeen, height about 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, dark-brown hair; dressed in a navy-blue shabby suit. No warrant.

Auckland. —Bth January last, for theft of £4 13s. 6£d. in money, the property of Thomas Wesley Barnes, grocer, 6 Broadway, Newmarket, Dean (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-two, height 5 ft. 4 in., fair complexion and hair, round full face; wearing brown tweed sports coat (no hat). The method used by accused in stealing the money was the same as that adopted by Wallace in stealing £4 14s. 2d. from Marriotts Stores, Ltd., referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 185. Another similar theft was committed on Patrick Henehan, Onehunga, and it is considered that the same man committed all the offences. No warrant.

Auckland. ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Paparua Prison for two months in default of paying £5 2s. 6d. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, William Dempsey, age forty-one, height 6 ft. 4 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark complexion, curly black hair, blue eyes, broad nose, small mouth, large ears.
