He has suicidal tendencies.

Auckland. 4th ultimo, for unlawfully converting a Hillman Minx motor-car (recovered), value, £IBO, the property of Nancy Prater Horrocks, 27 St. George’s Bay Road, Parnell, Two Men (names unknown) (l) Age twenty-five, height 6 ft., strong build, fair complexion and hair, brown eyes ; dressed in grey Donegal tweed coat and trousers (no hat). (2) Age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 9 in., medium build, dark complexion and hair; dressed in a dark suit and mauve silk shirt (no hat). These men were seen in the car referred to, and were being interviewed by the Remuera police when they bolted and disappeared after one of them had assaulted Constable Sutherland. No warrants.

Otorohanga.— loth instant, for a breach of his probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Frank Penna Potter, referred to in Police Gazette, 1939, page 668, and Photographs, page 83. He has failed to report to a Probation Officer, and his arrest is desired.

She left for Australia on the 24th ultimo.

Hastings. l3th instant, on warrant to apprehend for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Doris Voreen Stacey, Thomas Stacey, age thirty-four, height about 6 ft. 1 in., labourer, native of England, good build, sallow complexion, black hair, brown eyes, good natural teeth. FEiLDing. —Bth instant, for unlawfully converting to his own use a ladies’ bicycle (recovered), value £2, the property of Ivy Adams, 67 Denbigh Street, John Wilfred May, age thirty, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of England, slight build, fair complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes ; dressed in old brown suit and old fawn felt hat. The bicycle was unlawfully taken from Manchester Street, and recovered in West Street outside Cecil McClure’s residence, which had been broken into but nothing was stolen. A swag was found with the bicycle, and it contained photographs which have been identified as those of the suspect. No warrant.

Palmerston North. During the night of the 14th December last, 873 lb. mixed wool (recovered), value £4O, was stolen from a shed, the property of Zurcher Bros., farmers, Longburn. Suspicion is attached to J. Lynch (name probably fictitious), age about forty-five, height about 5 ft. 9 in., medium build ; dressed in a brown suit ; has a habit of addressing others as “ Matey.” On the 15th December last the suspect sold to H. Dewe, Ltd., Feilding, wool of a similar quantity to that stolen, and it has been identified as the stolen property. He was in possession of a light motortruck, and was accompanied by another man, age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 8 in., slight build, dark complexion. The latter took no part in the transaction. When located they are to be interviewed. No warrant.

Wellington.— 7th instant, on two warrants of commitment to Wellington Prison for fourteen days on each in default of paying £l2 18s. fines and costs for driving a motorcar in a dangerous manner, and driving a motor-car without a license, Reginald Keith Bain, referred to in Police Gazette, 1938, page 811, and Photographs, 1932, page 37. ydlO' 'Wtdz,jmfiib -
