APPREHENSIONS, PERSONS FOUND, ETC.

Kaitaia. — F. Russel!, false pretences, has been arrested by the Auckland police. • He is identical with .Frederick George Lester, referred to in Police Gazette, 1939, page 113. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 949.)

Whangarei. Teirney, theft, has been arrested by the Otahuhu police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 57.)

Auckland.— Frank Cole, theft, has been interviewed by the Auckland police, and he admits the offence. His correct name is Francis Noe! Popham. (Sec Police Gazette, 1937, page 3.)

Auckland. J. Morton, theft: Maxwell Archie Sullivan, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 25, lias admitted this offence, and Arnold Cyril Simpson’s motor-car has been recovered by the Gisborne police. (See Police Gazette, 1937, page 369.)

Auckland. — F. Cole, suspected of breaking, entering, and theft: Francis Noel Popham has been arrested for this offence, and he stated that the postal note for ss. has been destroyed. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 827.)

Auckland. Austin Lucas, inquired for, has been located and no further action is desired. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 978.)

Auckland. — Moa Hapeta, default of maintenance, has been arrested by the Ohacawai police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 57.) '

Auckland.— Martin Bishara, default of maintenance, has been arrested by the Tokaanu police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 900.)

Matamata. — Henry Evans, default of maintenance, has been arrested by the Whakatane police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 91.)

Wanganui. Thomas George Ward, unlawfully on racecourse, has been arrested by the Wanganui police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 846.)

Wanganui. — Kenneth William Mailman, alias William Kenneth Mailman, unlawfully converting motor-cycle, has been arrested by the Feilding police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 59.)

Otaki. Leonard Price McCarthy, default of fines and costs, has paid the amount to the Otaki police. (Sec Police Gazette, 1940, page 118.)

Wellington. — Herbert Woodham, inquired for: No further action is to be taken. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 582.) (P. 39/941.)

Wellington. — Edward Griffin, alias James Alfred Donaldson, breach of probation, has been arrested by the Wellington police. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 286.)

Christchurch. — Robert Edward Keen, alias Smith, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Reefton police. (See Police Gazette, 1936, page 176.)

Christchurch. — William John McLaughlin, referred to in Police Gazette, 1939, page 72, died at Christchurch on the 31st December last.

Dunedin. — William O’Neill, inquired for, has been located by the Green Island police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 61.)

Invercargill. — Claude Byron Hill and Stanley Raymond O’Connell, escaping from Borstal Institution, have been arrested by the Dunedin police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 907.)

Invercargill.— Michael Cody, breach of Bankruptcy Act, has voluntarily called on the Official Assignee, and the warrant has been cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1939, pages 410 and 866.)
