INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.
Sydney (Australia). —The men described below are wanted by the New South Wales police(1) John Benedict Craig, alias John Wells, age -thirty-four, height 5 ft. 7 in., groom, native of Australia, medium build, brown hair, grey eyes (see New South Wales Photo-book, 139/146, and New South Wales Supplement C., No. 69. (2) Charles Lewis Peoples, alias Charles Edward Burke, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 7| in., jockey and salesman, native of Australia, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes. They are confidence men and pickpockets, and expressed their intention to go to New Zealand, but their extradition is not desired. If located in this Dominion the Commissioner of Police, Wellington, is to be notified. Their photographs and fingerprints are filed in the Criminal Registration Branch, Wellington.
