VINCENT BEECHEY, 21 King Edward Avenue, Epsom, a gentlemen’s brown Raglan overcoat with brown checks of semi-waterproof material, slanting pockets lined with velvet, three buttons on front, purchased from Olsen and Greer, tailors, Queen Street; value, £7 7s. Auckland.— Between the 17th April and Bth July last, from a shed in Mechanics Bay, the property of RICHARD JACKSON ROSS, 15 Gardiner Road, Epsom, a 7 ft. dinghy (recovered), value £l2. Suspicion is attached to John W. Morris (name probably fictitious), age about forty, height about 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, brown hair, bushy eyebrows; dressed in dark trousers, light gaberdine overcoat, black boots, and grey felt hat. The dinghy was recovered from a second-hand dealer to whom it had been sold on the Bth July last by the man described above. He brought the dinghy to the shop in a black J-ton Chevrolet truck.

Auckland. —On the Bth ultimo the Tamaki Yacht Club’s rooms were broken into and the following, the property of REGINALD ALBERT HOLLOWAY stolen: A sextant made of alloy metal that looks like gun-metal, about 7 in. radius, silver a.rc J in. wide, wooden handle; value, £ls. Identifiable.

Between the 23rd September and 4th October last, from the Museum and Small Arms Stores in Trentham Military Camp, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Defence Department), a Service prismatic compass, No. 155273, marked with broad arrow, dry type, enclosed in round brass case which is partly lacquered, mother-of-pearl dial with degree markings thereon ; a blue metal six-chambered Tranter revolver (probably •455 calibre), No. 1666, wooden or ebonite handle; and a pair of leather covered Defence Service binoculars, No. 28683, made by A. Kershaw and Son, Ltd., Leeds, 1918, adjustable eyepieces, marked with broad arrow, “ Captain Davis marked with acid on one end ; total value, £lO ss. 6d.

Upper Hutt.— l3th or 14th October last, from the Battalion Stores in Trentham Military Camp, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Defence Department), a -455 calibre six-chambered Army Service Webley revolver, blue metal, No. 1235, ebonite hand-grip with ring fitted in end, branded “ N.Z.” over “ 9/39, Mk.
