APPREHENSIONS, PERSONS FOUND, ETC.

Whangarei.— Lewis Robson Appleton, failing to provide, has been arrested by the Mount Eden police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 633.)

Auckland.— Lam Kum Koon, unlawfully remaining in New Zealand: Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1928, page 450.)

Auckland.— Matthew John Shadboli, suspected of theft, has been interviewed by the Ngaruawahia police, but no evidence resulted. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 351.)

Auckland.— Mathew John Shadbolt, inquired for, has been interviewed by the Ngaruawahia police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 809.)

Auckland.— Alexander Morris, breach of probation, has been arrested, by the Birkenhead police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 845.)

Auckland. — Todor George Sunde, default of maintenance, has been arrested by the Whangarei i police. •• (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 925.)

Auckland.— John Edward Cunningham, inquired for, has been located by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 658.)

Auckland.— William Campbell McKinlay, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Hamilton police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 689.)

Auckland. — John Reginald White, default of fine and costs, has been arrested by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 597.)

Auckland. Wing Chong, unlawfully remaining in New Zealand: Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1928, page 249.)

Auckland. — Maurice James or Maurice William Relph, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1938, pages 389 and 441.)

Auckland. — William Edward Newenham, default of maintenance, has been arrested by the Wellington police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 787.)

Onehunga.— Ah Ching, default of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Otahuhu police. He had assumed the name Joe Ping. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 886.)

Hamilton. Selwyn Gibson Shirley Thompson, inquired for, has been interviewed by the Takapuna police. His correct surname is Thomson. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 691.)

Rotorua. — T. J. Jenkins, false pretences, has been arrested by the Auckland police. He is identical with James Ogden Alexander. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 886.)

National Park. — Frank Norman Harrop, escaping from prison, has been arrested by the Auckland police. He 'assumed the name Arthur Watson. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 906.)

Wanganui. Cyril Frederick Rayburn Jeffcoate, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Waihi police. His correct surname is Jefcoate. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 410.)

Wanganui. John Stewart, default of maintenance, has been arrested by the National Park police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 444.) He was born in 1883, not 1891.

Christchurch. —A. S. Patterson and Co., Ltd., shop broken into: James Mervyn Philp, referred to in Police Gazette, 1938, page 608 (whose handwriting is identical with that of the suspect J. S. Blair), and William Lewis Philp, referred to in Police Gazette, 1935, page 148, have been charged with the offence by the Christchurch police. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 691.)

Christchurch. —Hotchkiss machine-guns stolen : James Mervyn Philp and William Lewis Philp, have been charged with the offences by the Christchurch police, but /fc have not been recovered. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 767.) c

Timaru. —South Canterbury Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Ltd., store broken into : James Mervyn Philp and William Lewis Philp have been charged by the Christchurch police with the theft of the Willys motor-truck. (See Police Gazette, 1938, pages 304, 339, and 691.)

Dunedin. — Thomas Henry Jarvis, default of maintenance, has been arrested by the Linwood police. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 735.)
