APPREHENSIONS, PERSONS FOUND, ETC.

Rawene. — John Reginald Moore, missing, was found drowned in the Mangamuka River on the 31st ultimo. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 584.)

Dargaville. — Frederick Harvey Campbell, default of maintenance, has been arrested by the Freeman’s Bay police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 523.)

Devonport. — Vernon Harrop Sellars Deal, inquired for, has been interviewed by the Miramar police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 372.)

Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). Patrick Valentine Porter, deserting ship, has been arrested by the Napier police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 545.)

Auckland. Man (name unknown), wanted for conspiracy : Richard Haslam Smith has been interviewed by the Dunedin police. (See Police Gazette, 1935, pages 167 and 279.)

Auckland. Dorothy Margot Cooper, assaulted : Leonard Percy Dunn, who has been arrested for a similar offence by the Auckland police, has been interviewed regarding this yoffence, but no evidence resulted. (See Police Gazette, 1937, spage 833.)

Auckland. —Edith Poulsen, assaulted: Leonard Percy Dunn has been, interviewed regarding the offence, but no evidence resulted. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 55.)

Auckland. — Christopher Daniel Graham, default of maintenance, has paid the arrears to the Tuai police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 495.)

Auckland. — Ronald Barich, default of fine: Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 523.)

Auckland. — John James Michael Crosby, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Waihi police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 524.)

Auckland. Arthur Francis Munton, escaping from Inebriates’ Institution, has been arrested by the Greymouth police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 524.)

Auckland. Arthur John Warner, default of maintenance Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 545.)

Auckland. Cecil Bernie, default of maintenance, has been arrested by the Raurimu police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 546.)

Auckland. Frederick William Moss, illegally on premises without intent, has been arrested by the Hamilton police. His correct name is Frederick Wolfe MOSS. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 546.)

Auckland. Sidney White, alias Sydney Edward White, inquired for, has been interviewed by the Ellerslie police. (See Police Gazette, 1937, page 263.)

Ngaruawahia. John Henry Castell, default of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Balmoral police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 525.)

Hamilton. John Henry Wilson, inquired for, has been interviewed by the Mount Eden police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 548.)

Opotiki. Norman Nelson French, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Coromandel police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 464.)

Taumarunui. — Robert Million, default of fine and costs, &c., has been arrested by the Mangonui police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 547.)

Waita. — Mervyn Joseph Cooper, alias Doe, default of maintenance, has been arrested by the Greymouth police. He assumed the name Reginald Hall. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 720.)

Palmerston North. Cecilia Old, suspected of theft, has been interviewed by the Wellington police, but she denied the offence. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 584.)

Palmerston North. — John Wilson, unlawfully on racecourse, has been served with the summons by the Marton police. (See Police Gazette, 1937, page 632.)

Palmerston North. Stanley Arthur Thomas, false pretences, has been arrested by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 566.)

Masterton. Douglas Hooper, default of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Wellington police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 525.)

Wellington. — Frederick William Gowdie, breach of probation, has been arrested by the Masterton police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 426.)

Wellington. — Leslie Murray, breach of probation, has been arrested by the Stratford police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 496.)

Nelson. — Stanley Tracey, inquired for: He has paid the arrears, and no further action is desired. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 526.)

Greymouth. — John Hugh Alfred Henderson, default of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Hokitika police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 526.)

Christchurch. Vivian Harvey Were, convicted (see Police ' Gazette, 1939, page 316) : His photograph is not suitable for reproduction in the Police Gazette, and the words Photo at Paparua, 19/11/38 ” are to be deleted from all copies of the Police Gazette.

Christchurch. — Leslie Eric Towns, alias Geeson, convicted of indecent assault (see Police Gazette, 1939, page 412): On the 14th ultimo the Court of Appeal varied the sentence by cancelling the order to be flogged.

Christchurch. William Jaggar, convicted of causing death while intoxicated in charge of a motor-vehicle (see Police Gazette, 1939, page 413) : On the 14th ultimo the Court of Appeal varied the sentence to one year’s reformative detention, and reduced the period of disqualification from ten years to five years.

Gore and Dunedin. George Kerr, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Petone police. (See Police Gazette, 1926, page 39 ; and 1939, page 392.)

Invercargill.— John Herbert Reid, default of fine and costs, has been arrested by the Invercargill police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 566.)
