PROPERTY STOLEN.

Devonport. 24th February last, from Bayswater, the property of RALPH AMBROSE DIBBLE, 39 Norwood Road, a “Z” class yacht, 12 ft. 6 in. in length, 4 ft. 6 in. beam, painted bright colour outside, slate-green with orange battens inside, cream-coloured deck with black facings, port canvas is worn and tacked with copper tacks, one splashboard is cracked, combing forward side is cracked, and has been puttied and painted ; value, £4O. Auckland. —On the 19th March last, the shop of BADEN FRANCIS WALLACE FINLAYSON, confectioner, 11 Albert Road, Point Chevalier, was broken into and the following stolen : A fruit machine, patent No. 2038069 stamped on it, about 17 in. high and about 15 in. wide, slot for coins on top, “Rol-a-Top” and “ Twin Jack Pot” on front, cherries painted on front, chromium on top and black sides and bottom edges, has been welded on inner bedplate, one lemon has been bored to enable it to be played on a cherry combination. It contained £lO in silver coins: total value, £BO. Identifiable.

Auckland. 4th instant, from the shop of RALPH GORDON SKEATES, jeweller, Queen Street, two 18 ct. gold single-stone diamond engagement rings, platinum setting; an 18 ct. gold two-stone diamond engagement ring, crossover platinum setting; an 18 ct. gold three-stone diamond engagement ring, crossover platinum setting ; an 18 ct. gold three-stone diamond engagement ring, straight coronet platinum claw setting; an 18 ct, gold two-stone diamond engagement ring, small stones in shoulder, larger stones set in platinum ; three 18 ct. three-stone diamond engagement rings, small stones set in shoulders ; an 18 ct. gold two-stone diamond engagement ring, small stones set in shoulder, larger stones set in platinum ; an 18 ct. gold threestone diamond engagement ring, one small stone in each shoulder, larger stones set in platinum ; an 18 ct. gold threestone diamond engagement ring, claw setting ; an 18 ct. gold three-stone diamond engagement ring, claw setting, two small stones in each shoulder; an 18. ct. gold single-stone diamond engagement ring, two small stones on each shoulder ; an 18 ct. gold four-stone diamond cluster engagement ring, engraving on shoulders ; an 18 ct. gold single-stone diamond engagement ring, three small stones in each shoulder, larger stones set in platinum ; an 18 ct. gold two-stone diamond engagement ring, three small stones on each shoulder, larger stones set in platinum; and a ring-pad of black velvet except centre, which is made of cream velvet : total value, £l2l Bs. fid. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Two Men (names unknown) Age about forty-five, height 5 ft. 10 in., medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair; dressed in a grey tweed suit and overcoat. (2) Age forty-two, height 5 ft. 9 in., medium build, fair complexion and hair ; dressed in a light-coloured suit. The first-described man requested to see some toilet sets, and while he was being shown them the other man walked into the shop and sauntered round it. He was seen near the showcase from which the pad of rings was stolen.

Hamilton. —Between the 29th and 31st March last, from a bedroom, the property of IVY ISABELL WAINWRIGHT, Matangi, a ladies’ 9 ct. gold round 15-jewel Swiss-wristlet-watch, “ 1.1. W.” on outside of back case, 9 ct. gold plaited band bracelet attached ; value, £7. Identifiable.

Rotorua. lßth ultimo, from a room in the Palace Hotel, the property of JOHN DERK AARSEN, Railway Garage, Newcastle, New South Wales, a pair of black Zeiss fieldglasses, “ Carl Zeiss over “ Jena ” and “12x 1 ” marked on them ; value, £2O. Identifiable.

Wellington. —9th March last, from an ante-room in the Technical College, the property of UNA MARY McINTOSH, 18 Garrett Street, a ladies’ chromium octagon-shaped jewel Marvin wristlet-watch, case No. 359, Arabic numerals, silver expanding bracelet attached : value, £2. Identifiable.

Wellington. —2Bth March last, the property of EMILE ARNOLD CATTIN, 19 Willis Street, jeweller, two gentlemen’s 15-jewel Datum wristlet-watches ; a gentlemen’s chromium 15-jewel Datum Lorix wristlet- watch; three gentlemen’s chromium jewel Sagara wristlet-watches ; three gentlemen’s rolled-gold Sagara wristlet- watches; a gentlemen’s chromium 5-jewel Tip Top wristlet-watch; two gentlemen’s chromium 15-jewel Titan wristlet- watches ; two ladies’ chromium 15-jewel Titan wristlet-watches; a ladies’ rolled-gold wristlet-watch (all have leather straps attached); an oval cameo ring in gold setting, black figure on white background; four 9 ct. gold cuff-links ; six rolled-gold cufflinks ; four rolled-gold studs ; an enamel cuff-link; a pauashell tiki ; a gold bangle, lined with silver ; two paua-shell clocks ; a Westclox Baby Ben clock; and a chromium Westclox alarm clock: total value, £27 18s. 9d. Ring and Sagara watches only identifiable. One of the Sagara watches has been recovered, having been pledged with a pawnbroker on the 31st March last by the following-described man who gave his name as I. Smith : Age about twenty-four, height about 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, medium build, wavy fair hair.

Wellington. 2Bth March last, from a cabin on the ship “ Karu,” the property of DENNIS MACK, seaman, a fivevalve table model broadcast Silvertone wireless-set, 12 in. by 8 in. by 8 in., black bakelite cabinet, only one control lever, small piece of paper sealed on each end of cabinet, and on one piece is the name “D. Milne ” ; and a small filter which is used to eliminate static, size 5 in. by 4 in. by 3 in. : total value, £l3 Is. Identifiable.

Westport. —Between the 28th and 30th March last, from the Victoria Hotel, the property of OSWALD REECE MARTYN, traveller for British Specialities, Ltd., Dunedin, three canteens of cutlery, each containing fifty-five pieces, branded “ John Boardman & Son ” : total value, £2l. Identifiable.

Christchurch. 2lst ultimo, from the rear of the Bell Cycle Co., Lichfield Street, the property of WALTER DENNIS BERNARD CARR, care of W. A. Bradley, West Melton, a 1937 model 2| h.p. O.H.V. Montgomery motor-cycle, J.A.P. engine, painted black, chromium-plated tank and exhaust, electric light, Albion four-speed gear-box with foot change, Dunlop tire, size 3-J by 19 on front wheel, Goodyear tire, size 25 by 300 on rear wheel, engine No. 10 Z/V 51274/s, registration No. 21-494 ; value, £4O. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —4th March last, from tin trunks in a garage at 25 Burnside Road, the property of CYRIL MORLEY PINFOLD, 60 Worcester Street, a 7-65 mm. calibre German automatic Selbstade pistol, Walther’s patent, No. 135991 ; a -455 calibre six-chambered Webley pistol, No. 311199 ; about fourteen South African and American tunic badges; and about thirty foreign coins, mostly French, American, Portuguese, and Spanish : total value, £l2 10s. Firearms only identifiable.

Dunedin. —l3th instant, from the dwelling of CHARLES BISHOP McQUEEN, 37 Reid Road, a 9 ct. gold miniature Rugby football, inscribed “ C. B. McQueen, 1936, R.S.” ; an 18 ct. gold tie-pin, miniature springbok on head; an 18 ct. gold engagement ring, originally set with three green stones but two are missing ; a gold wedding ring inscribed “ Collins ” inside ; a ladies’ open-face silver wristlet-watch, Arabic numerals, centre of dial is gold ; a silver kilt brooch with amber stone in centre ; a ladies’ brown leather purse, 6 in. by 5 in. ; a pair of ladies’ grey silk gloves ; a round pink and gold painted china bowl; a blue and white enamelled cigarette casket, gold-coloured inside ; and a box of lavender soap : total value, £ls. Mostly identifiable.
