APPREHENSIONS, PERSONS FOUND, ETC.

Kaitaia. William Lee’s camera, &c., stolen: Frank Cassin has been interviewed by the Wellington police, but he denied the offence. He is identical with Robert Clarence Clarke, referred to in Police Gazette, 1939, page 329. (See Police Gazette, 1939, pages 134 and 285.)

Kaitaia. —Robert Bruce May and Percival Yendell, motor-cars unlawfully converted: Frank CaSSin has been interviewed by the Wellington police, but he denied the offences. He is identical with Robert Clarence Clarke. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 283.)

Whangarei. — Frank Cassin, suspected of unlawfully converting motor-car, has admitted the offence to the Wellington police, but he denied stealing the property from the motorcar. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 199.)

Whangarei. Alexander Brown Nathan, default of maintenance, has been arrested by the Manunui police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 231.)

Devonport. Robert Taylor, alias William Henry Williams, deserting Navy, has been arrested by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 234.)

Auckland. Edward Bonner Collins, alias Frederick Collins, alias Thomas James Hunter, default of fine and costs : The warrant has been executed by the Hamilton police. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 659.)

Auckland. — Edward Collins, suspected of theft: Edward Coliinson, alias Edward Bonner Collins, alias Thomas James Hunter, has been arrested by the Hamilton police and convicted of the offence. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 762.)

Auckland. Robert James Reilly, default of maintenance, has been arrested by the Queen Street Wharf (Auckland; police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 317.)

Auckland. Gordon McKenna, alias George McWilliams, indecent assault, has been interviewed by the Auckland police, but he denied the offence. He assumed the name Frank Joseph King. (See Police Gazette, 1938, pages 601 and 659.)

Auckland. — Francis Stephen Nevil Soper, absconding from State Institution, has been arrested by the Queen Street Wharf (Auckland) police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 167.)

Auckland. William Thomas, alias Poa, default of fines and costs: Both warrants have been executed by the Freeman’s Bay police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 253.)

Auckland. — Leonard Hilton Lowndes, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Mount Eden police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 267.)

Hamilton. E. Monteith, obtaining credit by fraud: Frederick Collins, alias Thomas James Hunter, has been arrested by the Hamilton police and convicted of the offence. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 589.)

Rotorua. — Thomas Francis Frewen, inquired for, has been interviewed by the Invercargill police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 300.)

Gisborne. Albert Edward Russell’s motor registrationplates stolen : Carl Mafeking Hertz has been arrested by the Wellington police and charged with the offence. (See Police Gazette, 1938, pages 750 and 844.)

Gisborne. Edward Roberts, default of fines and costs, has paid the amount to the Dunedin police. He is identical with Edwin George Valentine Roberts, alias Edwin Maloney. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 198.)

Wanganui. Wing Lee, alias Wong Bing, alias Wong Gang, alias Harry Wong, false pretences, has been arrested by the Palmerston North police. (See Police Gazette,. 1938, pages 197 and 215.)

Wanganui. Graham Kenneth Wright, unlawfully converting motor-car, has been arrested by the Napier police, and convicted of the offence. He is identical with James Duncan Eathorne, referred to in Police Gazette, 1939, page 331. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 797.)

Palmerston North. — Harry Wong, alias Wong Gang, alias Wing Lee, false pretences, has been arrested by the Palmerston North police. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 462.)

Otaki. — Laurence George Corbett, default of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Terrace End (Palmerston North) police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 268.)

Wellington.— Herbert Chapman, referred to in Police Gazette, 1937, page 301, and Photographs, page 20, died at Wellington on the 3rd instant.

Wellington. —Guy Frederick Roberts, motor-car unlawfully converted: Robert Clarence Clarke, referred to in Police Gazette, 1939, page 329, has admitted the offence to the Wellington police, but he denied stealing the property from the motor-car. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 135.)

Wharf (Wellington). Joseph Francis Sandys and Raymond Hames Jeffrey, deserting ship, have been arrested by the Christchurch police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 318.)
