Auckland. —sth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £l9 10s. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his child, Ivan John Slakich, referred to in Police Gazette, 1938, page 743, and Photographs, 1913, page 34. New Plymouth. — l3th instant, on warrant for deserting from the ship “ Trojan Star,” John McCauley, age twenty, height 5 ft. in., cook, native of England, medium build and complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, cast in right eye.

Wanganui. 2sth March last, that a summons may be served on each of them for being found on the licensed premises of the Provincial Hotel during prohibited hours (1) Leslie Kennedy, age about thirty, height 5 ft. 2 in., miner, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark complexion and hair, sharp features. Wellington. — l6th instant, that he may be notified that he is recalled to a Borstal Institution, John Reuben Sheppard, alias Shepherd, referred to in Police Gazette, 1938, page 781, and Photographs, 1936, page 59. No action is to be taken regarding his recall after the 26th January, 1940. He is also suspected of having stolen from H. Minahan, 5 Jessie Street, where ho was boarding, a grey double blanket and a white single blanket : total value, £1 3s. If he wilfully fails to return to a Borstal Institution he is liable to arrest. ”3-«? /y / Wellington. 27th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for twenty-one days in default of paying £8 fine and costs for ship-desertion, Charles Keir McAnulty, referred to in Police Gazette, 1939, page 245. He left this Dominion as a trimmer on the ship “ Piako ” on the 23rd March last.

Christchurch. —13th instant, on warrant for unlawfully landing in New Zealand, Harry Bolz, height 5 ft. 8 in., seaman, native of Germany, good build, dark complexion, has slight deformity of one shoulder which is projected forward ; dressed in a dark-blue suit. He deserted from the ship “ Dortmund ” at Lyttelton on the 13th instant, and he is a prohibited immigrant. , 3. hi-

Dunedin. —16th instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his two children, Leo Edward Albert Walker, age thirty-three, height 5 ft. 8| in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes, large ears ; usually wears a fawn overcoat and kid gloves. He owns a red Essex motor-car, registration No. 157,073. He is to be brought before the nearest Court presided over by a Magistrate. Arrears to 27th March last, £2 7s. 6d.
