When located he is to be interviewed regarding the offence. No warrant.

Auckland.— July last, on warrant for false pretences, John Anthony Crawford, referred to in Police Gazette, 1938, page 832, 'and' ~ Photographs, 1937, page 55. Accused obtained £1 10s. from Noel Ward, hairdresser, 571 Manukau Road, by falsely . representing that he was having printed “ pass-out ” checks for the Regent Theatre, Epsom, and that he had authority to advertise complainant’s business on them. There is another similar charge pending.

Accused stole a blank cheque, No. U. 68423, from the cheque-book of Frank Newrick, hotelkeeper, Havelock North, filled it in for £lO, and by means of it obtained goods, value £1 15s. 9d., and £8 4s. 3d. cash, from the Havelock North Trading Co. The cheque was drawn on the National Bank of New Zealand, Hastings, and signed L. G. Hansen. He is in possession of a threeseater Buick Roadster motor-car, registration No. 74,413.
