He obtained a Hamilton Dual Purpose radio-set (No. 12718, value £39 10s.), from Nimmo and Sons, radio dealers, The Square, by falsely representing that his effects had been destroyed by fire when Mr. K. W. Dalrymple’s house was burnt at Bulls, and that he was to receive insurance money out of which he would pay for the radio-set. He had been employed by Mr. Dalrymple, but no effects of his were destroyed in the fire. He was accompanied by a woman, age about forty, height about 5 ft. 5 in., medium build, poorly dressed.
