INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.

Melbourne (Australia). —On the Ist instant, two Men in a motor-ear fatally shot Frederick William Sherry, after which they stole the victim’s bag containing £SO in silver (mostly in 2s. pieces). Henry Thomas, who was with Sherry in a motor-car when they were attacked, escaped being murdered, and preserved the balance of a large sum of money with which they were going to pay the employees of Sherry’s Shoe Factory. The following is a description of the two men who committed the offence(l) Age about twenty-six, height about 5 ft. 11 in., medium athletic build, wearing a light-coloured overcoat over a dark suit, light-coloured felt hat slightly flattened on top, and he had a mask over the lower portion of his face. (2) Age about twenty-seven, height about 5 ft. 9 in., medium build, fresh complexion; wearing a light- or khaki-coloured driving coat, and a mask over the lower portion of his face. In connection with the murder it is desired that the following two men be located — Selwvn Wallace, Photograph No. 94 in Victoria Police Gazette, 1935; and (2) Herbert .tennpr (see New South Walea/Thoto Book, 135/32).
