Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). —11th instant, on warrant for unlawfully converting to his own use the launch “ Kiritia,” value £1,200, the property of Winstones, Ltd., John Charles Allen Olson, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 6 in., seaman and labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, sallow complexion, curly light-brown hair, grey eyes, butterfly, flags, and woman on right arm, anchor, nurse, and butterfly on left arm. On the 29th March last Mrs. Edwina Keitha Tilsley, who was drinking in the Grosvenor Hotel, • met accused and another man in the hotel. They went for a walk to the Harbour Reclamation where accused assaulted Mrs. Tilsley and had carnal knowledge of her. The other man, who referred to the accused by the name “ Chris,” endeavoured to forcibly prevent complainant from getting in a passing motor-car to report the matter to the police. He has been identified as Tai Raymond, a well known Rugby League footballer, and he is to be interviewed. His description is, age about twenty-six, height about 6 ft., black curly hair, brown eyes, aquiline nose ; dressed in a blue suit and brown shoes (no hat); good looking ; a half-caste Maori. Auckland. 2sth February last, for false pretences and forgery, Harry George Wilkinson, alias Harry Reid, referred to in Police Gazette, 1936, page 523, and Photographs, 1933, page 83. He is usually dressed in a navy-blue suit with fine white stripes, coat is double-breasted. On the 25th February last a telegram was transmitted from Wellesley Street Post-office, Auckland, to Thomas Gallagher, farmer, Kaitaia, asking for £5 to be sent to the G.P.0., Auckland, and signed “ Douglas.” Mr. Gallagher, believing the request was from his son, Douglas, forwarded by money-order telegram £5 to “ Douglas Gallagher, G.P.0., Auckland.” The money was collected by some person who signed “ D. V. Gallagher,’’ The accused, Wilkinson, was in Auckland at

the time, was previously employed by Thomas Gallagher, and the signature is in his handwriting. Before he is interviewed the file is to be obtained from the Superintendent of Police, Auckland. No warrant.
