INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.

Brisbane (Australia). — Warrants have been issued for the arrest of the following persons who are charged that between the 25th September, 1937, and 22nd November, 1937, at Brisbane, they conspired together to obtain £B,OOO from Francis Albert Blucher by fraudulent means —(1) Frederick Reginald Anderson, age fifty-one, height 5 ft. 8 in., salesman, native of Australia, dark-brown hair, hazel eyes, boxer on left upper arm (see New South Wales Supplement C. 1935, No. 1). (2) Francis Arthur Miller, alias Frank Harris, age about sixty-one, height 5 ft. 9f in., fitter, native of Canada, grey hair, blue eyes, scar on left little finger, swollen left knee (see New South Wales Supplement C. 1935, No. 141; New South Wales Photo-book 88/9) (C.R. 33/27). (3) Leonard Edwards, alias Marshall, age fifty-six, height 5 ft. 9 in., tailor, native of Australia, fair hair going bald, blue eyes, boil-scar on back of neck (see New South Wales Supplement C. 1935, No. 100, and New South Wales Photo-book, 103/254). Their photographs appear above. (4) Cyril Edward Smith, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 7 in., ARE native of New Zealand, fresh complexion, fair hair going bald, small fair moustache, round features. Anderson possessed IS) / a blue or black Pontiac sedan motor-car, and he was accompanied by a woman who may be his wife. She is about ' twenty-three years of age, height about 5 ft. 6 in., slight build, dark complexion. Smith was also accompanied by a woman who may be his wife. She is about twenty-four years of age, height about 5 ft. 3 in., medium build, fair to dark complexion, long black bobbed hair. Miller was in possession of a cream-coloured Plymouth sedan motor-car. Miller and Anderson are the principals and unless they are, or one of them is, arrested the arrest of Edwards and Smith is not desired beyond the state of New South Wales. (P. 38/632.)
