Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). 22nd ultimo, the property of EDWARD MACKIE PARORE, 9 Ward Terrace, Kingsland, a gentlemen’s brown tweed well-worn overcoat, double-breasted, dark stain on left side at front ; value, £3 7s. 6d. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age twenty-three, height about 5 ft. 4 in., fireman, strong build, fair complexion, brown hair; dressed in a blue denim suit. He was one of three men who assisted complainant to carry his luggage to the railway-station, but on the way he disappeared with the coat.

Auckland. August last, the property of GRACE O’BRIEN, care of N.Z. Perpetual Forests, Putaruru, an 18 ct. gold ring, set with five diamonds in straight claw and platinum setting, two small diamonds on each side of larger diamond; value, £35. Identifiable. The ring was stolen from the lavatory on the Rotorua-Auckland express train.

Auckland.— 4th September last, from a passage in the Mount Albert Grammar School, the property of WALTER ROBERT HUGH MARTIN, 39 Mountain Road, a gentlemen’s single-breasted greyish lavender-coloured waterproof overcoat with faint red lines forming checks, “Emansee” brand purchased from Milne and Choyce, Auckland, grey halflength lining, raglan sleeves, seam on right cuff repaired, small tear at back of right pocket; a white silk scarf; and a pair of brown kid gloves: total value, £6 7s. 6d. Identifiable.

Auckland. —18th September last, the property of JAMES TITO, Portland, a gentlemen’s gold wristlet-watch, “ J.T.” on back of case, expanding-bracelet attached ; value, £4. Identifiable. Complainant was injured during a brawl in a bedroom in the Hotel Auckland, and was taken to the hospital where his watch was found to be missing.

Auckland. —25th September last, from the dwelling of OLGA REA, 43 Selbourne Road, Grey Lynn, a brown Vandyke peschaniki fur coat with brown silk marocain lining, 15 in. drop collar, three fur buttons, small right inside pocket, fit woman 5 ft. 6£ in. and of medium build ; value, £ls 15s. Auckland. On the 3rd ultimo, the dwelling of the REV. JOHN HIDDLESTONE, 7 Bowling Avenue, Epsom, was broken into and the following stolen : £5 Bs. 3d. in money; a silver Victory medal a silver 1914-15 star a bronze Allies medal (all have regimental No. 4/137, and “ Spr. J. Hiddlestone ” on them) ; silver beads and buckle from a Masonic apron; a small brown leather purse; a silver jewel casket, about 3 in. by 2 in. by 3 in., embossed with scroll work, stands on four silver buttons, curved sides, lined with pink satin; a ring with cluster of nine diamonds, set with platinum points, large diamond in centre; a gold Gipsy ring, set with opal in gold, wide band; a turquoise matrix necklace with thin silver chain and two drooping turquoise pendants ; a nurse’s silver wristlet-watch, “ E.D.P.” and a date on outside case, Arabic numerals, red cross on dial; a thin gold chain with pendant, consisting of two gold leaves, an amethyst, and a pearl; a bog-oak cameo brooch, about 2 in. long, cameo loose ; a small brown cameo brooch set in gold, about J in. long ; and an agate brooch, about 2 in. by 3 in., agate, which is set in gold, is of reddish-brown with white stripes: total value, £56 13s. 3d. Auckland. —Bth ultimo, from clothing in the foundry of THOMAS VALENTINE MASEFIELD, St. Patrick’s Square, a cheque, No. 3-A. 316626 for £3, drawn on the Union Bank of Australia, Auckland, in favour of K. Pegler, signed H. Vaudrey, and dated 6/10/37 ; a£s note ; two £1 notes ; and a 10s. note: total value, £lO 10s. Cheque only identifiable.

Auckland. —Between the 28th August and 2nd September last, from the store-room of A. AND T. BURT, Customs Street West, a Mighty Midget Unishear machine which is used for cutting copper or metal sheeting, driven by £ h.p. Dunmore Universal electric-motor which is attached, total weight of machine and motor is 6£ lb., pistol grip for handling, two blades, one moveable and the other fixed ; value, £l7. Identifiable.

Hastings. —2nd instant, from the dwelling of JESSIE ANN HYDE, 706 York Street, a gentlemen’s 9 ct. gold heavy chain, twined oval links; a ladies’ 9 ct. gold chased bracelet, imitation buckle; a string of pearls a ladies’ gold starshaped pendant set with pearls, gold chain with fine oval links; a ladies’ gold bracelet of longitudinal narrow links, one link broken; a ladies’ signet ring, had round shield with “ J.C.” on it; a ladies’ 18 ct. gold band ring with “ Mizpah ” on it; and a gold open-face keyless watch, originally a pocket watch, but has been converted into a wristlet-watch : total value, £2B 15s. Wellington. —2nd ultimo, the property of LAWRY LEEKS, 27 Townsend Road, Miramar, a dark-brown fibre suitcase, about 20 in. by 18 in. by 8 in., two fibre bands riveted around it, containing a dark-grey suit with darker grey stripes, “ Public Service Tailors ”on tag inside collar; a set of gentlemen’s cotton pyjamas with red and grey stripes, “ L.L.” in ink on collar of coat; a case with “ L.L.” on it, containing a Valet razor; two white shirts (one has black stripes), “ L.L.” on collars; a brown leather case with strap, containing a pair of black prism Zeiss binoculars, small silver plate on left side, with “ L.L.” on it; and some shaving requisites; toothbrush, &c. : total value, £26 15s. Identiable. Complainant left the suit-case near the bookstall at the railway-station.
