Whangaroa. Between September, 1935, and October, 1936, from outside a factory at Kaeo, the property of LEONARD METCALFE LANE, Totara North, a sixtygallon Alfa Laval separator, No. 2008447 ; value, £ls. Identifiable.

Wellsford. 3lst March last, from the shop of VERNON NEVILLE STAGG, storekeeper, Tauhoa, £9 10s. in notes a cheque, No. 385482, for £1 55., drawn on the Bank of New Zealand, Warkworth, by E. R. Boler in favour of “ Cash ” ; a cheque, No. 418839, for £2 195., drawn on the Bank of New Zealand, Warkworth, by C. F. Cantloy in favour of V. Stagg ; and a cheque, No. 294328, for £3 4s. 6d., drawn on the Bank of New Zealand, Helensville, by R. F. H. Aidworth in favour of V. N. Stagg (the two latter cheques may be crossed). Cheques only identifiable.

Auckland. 22nd March last, from the launch “ Rosella ” moored at Launch Steps, Queen Street Wharf, the property of GEORGE ADAM BLACKWELL, Great Barrier Island, a Gladstone leather bag about 18 in. long, faulty lock, containing £3 10s. in silver and coppers; a cheque-book on the Bank of Australasia, Auckland, containing fifteen forms, Nos. A. 912246 to A. 912260 some letters addressed to Westfield Market; and some books addressed to the Auckland Education Board : total value, about £4 10s. Identifiable except money.

Auckland.— During the night of 14th April last, the dwelling of the ESTATE OF SIR FREDERICK LANG, Queenstown Road, Onehunga, was broken into and the following stolen : About twenty white woollen blankets; a pair of black box calf boots, size 7, leather lined, sewn soles; a pair of Derby pattern working boots, size 7, Blucher toes, heavily nailed; a gentlemen’s hunting crop with bone handle, about 2 ft. long ; a gentlemen’s silver-mounted whip, may have “ F.W.L.” on mounting, about 2 ft. 6 in. long; a gentlemen’s single-breasted old brown overcoat; a gentlemen’s single-breasted dress overcoat, size 4 or 5, black sateen lining and lapels, cloth-covered buttons, “ Thomas Shields, Wellington ”on tag; and a quantity of gentlemen’s singlets and shirts : total value, £2O 10s. Identifiable.

Auckland. — the 11th and 13th ultimo, the warehouse of ROSS AND GLENDINING, LTD., 68-70 Grey’s Avenue, was broken into and the following stolen: Seven bolts of Orkney grey shirting flannel, may have “ Roslyn Plunket ” in blue letters on them ; four bolts of navy-blue shirting flannel (50 yd. in each bolt); a pair of trousers and vest, size 6, heavy grey worsted, similar to Railways Department’s uniform material; and a screwdriver, 4 in. long, flat wooden handle: total value, £66 11s. Portion identifiable. Suspicion is attached to — Man (name unknown), age about forty, height about 5 ft. 7 in., medium build, left hand bandaged which was injured in breaking a window ; dressed in a brown suit and dark felt hat; and (2) Man (name unknown), age about forty, height 5 ft. 7 in., medium build; dressed in a grey coat, dark trousers, white sandshoes, and dark-grey felt hat. Both men who were shabbily dressed appeared to be ship’s firemen. They were seen leaving the rear of the premises each carrying a large sack of goods.

Auckland. —About the 29th November last, the property of AGNES SKEATES, 32 Fairview Road, Mount Eden, an 18 ct. gold engagement ring, set with four diamonds in form of square in claw setting, gold band around each stone, band worn thin and broken; value, £4O. Identifiable. Complainant gave the ring to her husband (who is now deceased) to have it repaired, and he may have left it with a jeweller, or it may have been stolen.

Auckland. Between the 15th and 18th January last, from the University, the property of the AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL, a lantern slide projector, American make, about 24 in. high by 18 in. long, painted black, slide carrier painted with light varnish ; value about £37 10s. Identifiable.

Auckland. 22nd January last, from a cubicle at the Tepid Baths, the property of WALLIS FRASER HEATH, 14 School Road, Morningside, a gentlemen’s gold Swiss wristlet-watch, oblong case, “ C 2832 ” scratched on inside of back case, V-shaped scratch on outside of back case, leather wrist-strap attached ; value, £4. Identifiable.

Auckland. —12th January last, the property of RAYMOND GARNET THOMAS, 29 Teviot Street, Oamaru, a gentlemen’s rolled-gold keyless wristlet-watch, Arabic numerals, “ R. G. Thomas ” on back, white metal wristband attached; value, £4. Identifiable. Complainant left the watch in a lavatory on the New Plymouth - Auckland express train.

Auckland. Between the Bth and 10th March last, from a room in the Glenalvon Boardinghouse, Waterloo Quandrant, the property of MARY HELEN GARRARD, a ladies’ gold (probably 15 ct.) well-worn solitaire diamond ring with large diamond in claw setting ; value, £25. Identifiable.

Auckland.— Between the 25th March at 10th April last, the property of WINSOME CECELIA LLOYD, a handbag and £4 in money (recovered); an 18 ct. gold half-hoop diamond ring with two diamonds, one of which has a flaw in it, in platinum claw setting; a red leather purse, about 4 in. by 2 in.; 17s. in money ; and an Auckland Hospital Board account for X-ray treatment: total value, £35 2s. Identifiable except money. Complainant lost her bag and contents, and on the 10th April it was found in a vacant section in Turner Street. The contents, except £4, in an outside compartment, which was evidently overlooked by the offender, had been stolen.

Auckland. —About the 12th April, 1036, from an empty house at Horse Shoe Bush, Dairy Flat, the property of CYRIL JOHN SPINLEY, care of Albany Hotel, a 12 gauge double-barrel hammerless shot-gun, No. 2692, long barrels, made by Andrews, London ; value, £3O. Identifiable.

Auckland.— Between the 24th and 31st January last, from a room at 96a Nelson Street, the property of ELSIE BERTHA BUCKINGHAM, care of Wilton Boardinghouse, Khyber Pass Road, a ladies’ gold wristlet-watch, Arabic numerals, odd hands, glass loose, gold expanding bracelet with safety-chain and catch attached; a gold dress ring, set with either four or two pearls and two bluish-green stones, ring has been enlarged and the j oin is visible; and 3s. in English sixpenny and threepenny pieces : total value, £l6 3s. Pafakura. the 14th and 18th April last, from a motor-cycle in a shed, the property of WILFRED GRESTRY MORGAN, farmer, Karaka, a motor-cycle battery, branded “ ERG ” ; a motor-cycle generator, painted black ; a small screwdriver ; a bicycle combination spanner ; a nickel shifting spanner, about 6 in. long; and two bicycle nickel tire-levers : total value, £3 15s. Not identifiable.

Putaruru. —10th April last, from a motor-car at Arapuni, the property of ALEANOR JANET NORMAN, 96 St. Andrews Road, Epsom, a ladies’ black Morocco purse of unusual design, 7 in. square, trimmed with plain leather strips, leather handle, two silver-coloured clasps, containing an Auckland Savings-bank book, No. 155332 ; an Australian money-order for £1 payable at Arapuni; a cheque for £1 Is. 6d. signed “ Hugh McCarroll, Taipuha ” ; a £5 note ; a£l note ; a 10s. note; and 10s. in silver : total value, £B. Hamilton. —During the night of 30th April last, the office of the TAUPIRI DAIRY CO. was broken into, the safe opened by means of explosives, and the following stolen : £2B 16s. 4d. in money ; a cheque, No. 410132, for £4 16s. 3d., drawn on the Bank of Now Zealand, Putaruru, by J. T. Shrive in favour of Taupiri Dairy Co. ; a cheque for 4s. 6d. drawn on the National Bank of New Zealand, Hamilton, by the Taupiri Dairy Co., in favour of K. Tomonui; a postal note for 11s. with six Id. stamps on it; a ladies’ gold openface old wristlet-watch, gold hands, Roman numerals, made by Ritchie, Liverpool, black ribbon strap with gold wire attached; an 18 ct. gold half-hoop engagement ring, set with large diamond in centre and two smaller ones on each side of it in claw setting ; a ladies’ gold band ring ; a ladies’ gold dress ring, set with large ruby in centre and a diamond and ruby on each side of it in claw setting ; and two girls’ old rings : total value, £62 Bs. 7d.
