APPREHENSIONS, PERSONS FOUND, ETC.

Auckland. — James Joseph Drinnan, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Newton police. (See Police Gazette, 1937, page 278.)

Auckland. — George Penney, default of maintenance, has paid the arrears to the Ruawai police. (See Police Gazette, 1937, page 369.)

Auckland. Edgar Reyburn Anderson, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Mount Eden police. (See Police Gazette, 1934, page 453.)

Auckland. George Edward William Cox, theft, has been arrested by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1937, page 329.

Auckland. — R. H. Shrimpton, false pretences, has been arrested by the Wairoa police. He is identical with Ronald Honi Shrimpton, referred to in Police Gazette, 1930, pages 398 and 480. (See Police Gazette, 1937, page 329.)

Papakura. —Colin Clifford Angus Jones, missing, has returned home. (See Police Gazette, 1937, page 384.)

Hamilton. — R. H. Shrimpton, assuming designation of police constable, has been arrested by the Wairoa police. He is identical with Ronald Honi Shrimpton. (See Police Gazette, 1937, page 227.)

Rotorua. — F. Thompson, false pretences: John Joseph Houlihan, referred to in Police Gazette, 1933, page 610, has been arrested by the Timaru police for the offence. His correct name is John Edward Houlihan. (See Police Gazette, 1936, page 737.)

Hastings. William Joseph Yemm, suspected of theft, has been arrested by the Wellington police. He is identical with William Donghi, referred to in Police Gazette, 1937, page 370. (See Police Gazette, 1937, page 199.)

Wellington. — Stephen James Rodda, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Ashburton police. He is identical with James Rodda, alias Stephen James Rodda, referred to in Police Gazette, 1937, page 279. (See Police Gazette, 1923, page 132.)

Wellington. — Rex Henman, suspected of theft, has been arrested by the Wellington police. His correct name is Rex Allan Stent Henman. (See Police Gazette, 1036, page 189.)

Wellington. Daniel .Spence Andrew, theft, has been arrested by the Rahotu police. He is identical with a man of the same name referred to in Police Gazette, 1931, page 187. (See Police Gazette, 1936, page 282.)

Wellington.— D. Driscoll, deserting ship, has been arrested by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1937, page 357.)

Wharf (Wellington).— John Leslie Jones, deserting ship, has been arrested by the Palmerston North police. (See Police Gazette, 1937, page 152.)

Christchurch. — William George Barns, default of maintenance, &c., has been arrested by the New Brighton police. (See Police Gazette, 1937, pages 270 and 370.)

Timaru. — Lionel Francis Grimstone, theft, has been arrested by the Patea police. (See Police Gazette, 1937, page 293.)

Invercargill.— William George Liddell and Norman McKenzie, convicted of theft: At a rehearing on the 22nd ultimo the charge against each man was dismissed, and all copies of the" Police Gazette are to be amended accordingly. (See Police Gazette, 1937, page 90.)

Invercargill. A. Thompson, alias Ivan Alexander Edwards, alleged fraud (see Police Gazette, 1937, pages 264 and 370) is in Sydney (Australia), and as there is insufficient evidence in this case no further action is desired.
