Auckland. 2lst ultimo, on warrant for unlawfully carnally knowing Joyce Glanville, school-girl, age eleven years and nine months, of Pollok Settlement, Waiuku, Angus McGregor White, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 6£ in., farm labourer, native of Scotland, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, scar over left eye, on upper lip, and on back of head ; may be wearing light-coloured sports trousers and brown coat. An amateur boxer ; quarrelsome. The accused was employed by John A. Richards, farmer, Pollok Settlement, Waiuku, from where he disappeared during the night of the 22nd ultimo. Auckland. —26th January last, for assaulting Loma Eleanor Neal (age thirteen years), 1 McKelvie Street, Man (name unknown), age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 10 in., medium build, red or tanned complexion, dark hair; dressed in a brownish pullover with a purple-coloured pattern running through it, medium grey trousers, darkgrey shirt, greyish-brown peak cap, and black heavy boots with uskide soles. The girl on whom the offence was committed was camping with her parents at Blockhouse Bay, and while walking along one of the tracks she was assaulted by the accused. No warrant.

Auckland. —Bth January last, for forgery and uttering, Raymond Morris, alias Bert Morris, age about forty, height about 5 ft. 9 in., medium to strong build, ruddy and florid complexion, inclined to have dark hair ; has the appearance , of a farm labourer, face appears blotchy ; dressed in a darkishgrey suit, grey felt hat (no collar). Accused obtained from Kissin’s mercery and drapery store, 145 Karangahape Road, a navy-blue herringbone suit, size 5 ; a fur-nap hat of velour ) type, size 7; a fugi neglige shirt, size 4, branded “ Apex .P.K.A.” ; a white handkerchief with striped edge ; a Noveltex tie; and £9 17s. lid. in money: total value, £ls 10s., by means of a forged money-order telegram. Accused (>alled at Onehunga Post-office and filled in a money-order telegram-form for 10s. He supplied the names Raymond J Morris, Taylor’s Road, Mangere, as remitter, and Bert Morris, Chief Post-office, Auckland, as payee. On the same day, delivery of the money-order telegram was taken from the Chief Post-office, Auckland, by a man who signed the name Bert Morris. On the same evening a man giving the name Bert Morris, obtained the goods and money from Kissin’s store. Remmers, referred to in Police Gazette, 1932, page 181, and Photographs, page 46, has been identified as that of a man who under the name of Harry Jones purchased an old Dodge motor-truck from William Reuben Marsden, 18 Tory Street, Wellington. Description of truck : 1924 model Dodge, painted bluish-grey; was originally a tourer but has been converted into a light truck, roadster hood, artillery wheels, engine No. 881-764, chassis No. 827116, registration No. L. 25 v 585. This truck was relicensed on the 9th December, 1936, by a person giving the name of Harry Jones, builder, Myrtle Grove, Levin. Remmers is a carpenter, and will probably seek employment on some building or alteration job. When Remmers bought the truck he did not purchase a spare tire. The tire which was obtained from E. W. Pidgeon and Co. (referred to in Police Gazette, 1937, pa£e 78) may now be used on this truck, zC-xi /// /—r /a ry

New Plymouth.— lst instant, on two warrants for failing to maintain his wife, Constance Mary Stowers-Crowley, and four children, 44 Wallace Place, Cornelius Michael StowersCrowley, age forty-four, height 5 ft. 8 in., electrical engineer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, fair hair going bald, blue eyes, straight nose, long blue scar on right cheek; usually well dressed and wears a black hard hat. Offender had intentions of going to Samoa. His photograph la filed.

Hawera. —2nd ultimo, that he may be located and the Child Welfare Officer, Hawera, notified of his whereabouts, Cecil Bernard Geary, age sixteen, height 5 ft. 4 in., labourer, fresh complexion, fair hair, grey eyes, scar on right forefinger, on bridge of nose, and on left temple; wearing a navy-blue suit, black shoes (no hat). He has also a pair of grey trousers in his possession which he sometimes wears with a blue coat. (See Police Gazette, 1935, page 420.)

Palmerston North.—l9th instant, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for failing to comply with an order requiring £SO deposit as security for the obedience of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, of whom Dorothy Shaw is the mother, Henry White, age about twenty-six, height 6 ft., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, brown hair, hazel eyes, aquiline nose ; speaks slowly, slight impediment in speech ; competes in wood-chopping contests, and a keen rugby player. Invercargill.— 3rd November last, for. alleged fraud, A. Thompson, alias Ivan Alexander Edwards, age thirty-four, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer and canvasser, native of New Zealand, medium build, sallow complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, portion of right little finger missing. Accused called on William Andrew Nicoll, garage proprietor, Centre Bush, near Winton, selling a preparation called “ Wonder Sol.” Complainant bought a quantity of this preparation to the value of £l7 11s., and gave him a cheque-on th& Bank of New Zealand for that amount. It was later ascertained that the preparation was valueless. While in Southland the accused was in possession of a five-seater Essex Challenger motor-car, and it is believed that he is in possession of- two: sets of registration-plates, Nos. 118 v 537 and 46 y 019, for the ' current year.
