Kaikohe.— On or about the 24th October, 1936, the property of GLADYS SAMSON, Waimate North, a 9 m/m calibre Luger automatic pistol, No. 9860 ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Takapuna.— Between 12th and 18th September last, from the farm of ALPHONSO WYNDHAM SERGEANT, Riverhead, two dehorned springing Jersey heifers, cream shading to yellow; two dark-brown dehorned springing Jersey heifers with black points, one with slightly stiff right thigh, high tail-bone, about 1 in. of loose horn growing; and two grey dehorned springing Jersey heifers: total value, £4B. Identifiable.

Auckland. 24th January last, from the Victoria Cruising Club’s slipway, Freeman’s Bay, the property of WILLIAM PATRICK CRONIN, 23 Church Street, Ponsonby, a ladies’ gold watch, gold hands, “ E.R.W.” on front case, “Oct. 1904 ”on back, stem wind ; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Auckland. —l2th ultimo, from a motor-car in Hobson Street, the property of ERIC FREDERICK JARVIS NAUMANN, Matata, Whakatane, a gentlemen’s single-breasted fawn mixture tweed overcoat, size 4, “ National Mills, Wanganui ” on tag at neck; and a gentlemen’s brown felt hat, size 7 or V 2 : total value, £6 ss. Suspicion’ is attached to Man (name unknown), age about fifty, height about 5 ft. 6 in., strong build ; dressed in a dark coat which appeared to be too long for him, dark trousers, and dirty fawn felt hat; slouching gait; untidy appearance. He was seen to remove the coat from the motor-car.

Auckland. 3oth January last, from a room at 15 Pitt Street, the property of WILLIAM HUGH DUNN, a gentlemen’s rolled-gold hunting Waltham watch, scroll and shield on back of case, movement No. 19606965, case No. 3528067 ; and an Albert watch-guard of black ribbon about 1 in. wide with 9 ct. gold mountings: total value, £2. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about nineteen, height about 5 ft. 5 in., slight build, pale complexion, wavy fair hair ; dressed in a grey suit; sharp features ; smart appearance. He shared the room with complainant, and after he had left it was discovered that the above-mentioned property had been stolen. He believed to be A showman.

Raurimu. —Between the /st November last mid the 23rd December, the property of FRANK MISCHEWSKI, Erua, a -32 calibre five-chambered H. and R. Arms Co. revolver, No. 45998 ; value, £1 10s. Identifiable. . . ,

Wanganui. —Between 4th and clOth December last, from the staff quarters, Chateau Tongariro, the property of MARY ELIZABETH GAVIN McLEAN, and others, a ladies’ gold three-stone diamond ring, larger stone in centre with four emerald chips between diamonds; a ladies’ silver wristletwatch, engraved “ From Mother to Eric, 16-6-19,” with navy-blue cord wristlet; a ladies’ gold wristlet-watch, dent in back case, black ribbon wristlet; and about £1 16s. 6d. in money : total value, £33. Waipukurau.— 22nd ultimo, the property of the PATANGATA COUNTY COUNCIL, a wooden three-quarter timber jack, painted orange colour, steel fork-grip with one point broken away, “ P.C.C.” branded in wood, first two figures of number are believed to be “12 ” ; value, £9. Identifiable.

Palmerston North. On the 13th ultimo, from the Palmerston North Railway-station, the property of GARTH WORRALL DAVIES, Te Horo, Otaki, a brown fibre suitcase, about 24 in. by 15 in., one hinge broken; four pairs dark-coloured denim trousers (three pairs recovered); three shirts (recovered); two pairs brown woollen socks; two pairs grey woollen socks; a pillow slip ; a Gillette safetyrazor, branded “ Property of United States Army ” ; shaving requisites; a manure bag containing two blankets (one white, one dark); a pair of gum boots, size 8; a pair of black working boots, size 8; a pillow; a brownish-grey Kaiapoi sports coat; a brown canvas cover, 4yd. square; and a large enamel mug ; also a pair of trousers (recovered) ; a blue serge waistcoat, size 6 ; a black two-cell electric torch ; a pair of brown and white striped pyjamas (coat recovered); and a pair of 8 in. scissors : total value, £lO 6s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Robert White (name probably fictitious), age about forty, height about 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, medium build, sandy complexion and hair, clean-shaved, tidy appearance ; wearing grey clothes. The recovered property had been pawned in Palmerston North by a man giving the name Robert White, 9 Bourke Street, Palmerston North.

Wellington. —On the 20th January last, from the dressingroom at the Basin Reserve, the property of GORDON LINDSAY WHYTE, 7 Bruce Avenue, Brooklyn, a gentlemen’s round silver Rolex -wristlet-watch, No. 226 L, luminous dial and hands, black leather wristlet; value, £3 15s. Identifiable.

Blenheim. —Between the 3rd and 12th December last, from a paddock adjoining the main road at Hillersden, the property of the ESTATE OF G. G.
