Hamilton. —On the 10th or 11th ultimo, from the dwelling of HUBERT RIPLEY FALLWELL, 69 River Road, a Robertson’s reversible electric sewing-machine, painted red, serial No. 8003156, knee lever for switching on current is not attached to machine, contained in brown leather case, about 13 in. by 15 in. at base, and 10 in. high ; value, £l6! Identifiable. .

Feilding. —Between the Ist July and 22nd October last, the property of ROBERT LIONEL LEVIN/'Wcstella Estate, Taonui, a Webley and Scott six-chambered revolver, believed *32 calibre, No. 63863, mark II; and a *25 calibre Harrington and Richardson automatic pistol, Nos. 3593 and 13-1908 ; value, £7. Identifiable. The following persons who have left complainant’s employ are to be interviewed regarding the offence—(l) Roy Atkins; age about thirty-four, height 5 ft. 8 in., gardener, native of New Zealand, thin build, dark complexion, hair, and eyes, decayed teeth, hunch-’ backed untidy appearance. (2) Rr G. Hayhurst, known as Geoff'Hayhursi, ago twenty, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, natural teeth; dressed in a navy-blue suit and felt hat; tidy appearance.

Palmerston North. During the night of 7th ultimo, from clothing in a room at the Commercial Hotel, the property of ROBERT WALTER DAWSON, Waipukurau, a white envelope, with “ Dawson ” typed on it, containing five £1 notes and 15s. in silver. Suspicion is attached to • RichardSon (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-four, height about 5 ft. 10 in., medium build, dark complexion, darkbrown hair; dressed in a blue suit, felt hat, soft collar and tie ; dirty appearance. Suspect, who stated that he drives a Bedford truck between Hamilton and Waipukurau, shared a room with complainant, but left the hotel about 5.45 a.m. on Bth ultimo, after which the money was found to be stolen.

On the 24th October las}/ the dwelling of GEORGE BENGSTON, North Road, was broken into and the following stolen: An old-fashioned gold brooch, blue stone in centre, red stone at each side; a gentlemen’s gold double watch-chain, long links with about three small links between them ; a ladies’ gold old-fashioned long neck-chain, small links ; a pair of gold drop earrings ; and a gentlemen’s gold dress ring with blue stone : total value, £45. Identifiable.

Masterton.- -During the night of the 28th September last, the office of LYTTLE AND CO., garage proprietors, Queen Street, was broken into and the following stolen: A cheque for £9 11s. 3d. on the Bank of New Zealand, Masterton, No. 167956, drawn by J. M. James in favour of Lyttle and Co.; a cheque for £3 11s. 4d. on the Bank of New South Wales, Masterton, No. 490464, drawn by J. C. Ewington in favour of Lyttle and Co. ; and a cheque for £2 on the Bank of New Zealand, Masterton, No. B. 192206, drawn by J. McAlister and H. B. Maunsell in favour of J. Edwards ; and £24 9s. sd. in money : total value, £39 12s. Cheques only identifiable. ,

Wellington. —During the night of 21st ultimo the shop of ALEX TIPLITZKY, jeweller, 128 Wakefield Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A gentlemen’s rolled gold open-face Cyma pocket watch, case is slightly worn; a 9 ct. gold fine-fetter and oval watch-chain, alternate links are white gold ; a gentlemen’s rolled gold hunting Elgin pocket watch, double case on back, “ 10 years guarantee ” on case, small mark in design of shamrock scratched on inside; a rolled gold double watch-chain, bar attached to chain with three links and one of which is larger than other two, links have “ rolled gold ” on them ; two pairs of rolled gold earrings set with greenstone, screw pattern fasteners; a rolled gold earring set with a Topaz ; eighteen 9 ct. gold signet and dress rings, dress rings are set with rubies, greenstone, and opals; an 18 ct. gold ring set with oval opal; and about three gunmetal watches not in working order : total value, £2l 7s. 6d. Two first-mentioned watches only identifiable.

Wellington. During the night of 26th October last, from the office of the Rex Theatre, the property of N.Z. THEATRES, LTD., £2l Is. 6d. in money ; and three canvas money bags, one of which may have “ Rex ”on it. Suspicion is attached to Luke Buttimore WHson*fthe manager of the theatre), age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 7 in., native of Australia, medium build, pale complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes; usually well dressed; wears spectacles. The money was removed from the safe which was opened with a key. A similar offence was committed during the night of 26th July last, when £52 12s. 6d. was stolen. ~
