Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). —4th September last, from a room in the Ambassadors Hotel, the property of WILLIAM CLYDE RAINBOW, 146 Symonds Street, a gentlemen’s chromium-plated 15-jewel round Swiss wristletwatch, luminous dial on which are the numerals, “ 12, 3, and 9,” the others being denoted by a stroke, style No. 6118, “ Nickel Chrome ” inside back case, chromium-plated hook-on wrist-band attached ; value, £4 ss. Identifiable.

Auckland. —21st May last, from a motor-car outside the Regal Theatre, Ponsonby Road, the property of ARTHUR JAMES SCOTT, manager, a Trailer film to “ The Seven Keys to Baldpate,” about 200 ft! long, R.K.O. picture; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Smith ” scratched on handle; a Disston straight-back saw, London twelve model, handle has been repaired with strip of brass; a Stanley steel smoothing plane, size 4, may have “ J. Smith ” scratched on handle ; a Stanley brace, ratchet type ; about nine bits in sizes from in. to l| in., some have cross filed on bottoms ; a large extension bit in green baize bit-holder ; a German plane, wooden body, “ J.S.” carved on side; two butt chisels, sizes 1 in. and 1-J- in.; a bevel-edged chisel, 1J in.; a mortice chisel, J in.; four chisels, some have cross filed below ferrule; three cold chisels, “ J.S.” stamped with punch; a 3-ft. Rabone rule; a set of steel compasses; a brass plumb bob; a pair of alligator-jaw pliers, 8J in. long, “22” on one handle; a Cheney claw hammer, size 5, “A. G. Between the 24th and 27th April last from the s.s. “ Canadian Highlander ” or Central Hotel, the property of SYDNEY WREN, 85 Hill street, Wellington, a brown leather suit-case, about 3 ft. 6 in., by 2 ft. by 8 in., handle on top and leather handle on one end; a double-breasted grey flannel suit with extra pair of trousers, “ S. Wren” on tag inside breast pocket, fit man about 6 ft., made in London ; a black dinner jacket, made in London, “ S. Wren,” on tag inside breast pocket; a black full-dress jacket; two light-coloured wooden bottle cases, 9 in. high, 3 in. diameter ; a pair of reddish-coloured leather slippers, size 10; a navyblue silk dressing-gown, lined with silk material of lighter shade, silk belt; two books entitled, “ Anthony Adverse ” ; a book on advertising; five assorted striped shirts with two collars to each ; about four silk ties ; some handkerchiefs ; a blue check silk scarf, about 4 ft. long; a pair of black shoes, size 10; and a pair of buckskin and tab shoes : total value, about £37 14s. Auckland. — or about the 26th August last, from a motor-car in Grafton Road, the property of EVELYN MYRTLE SHEPHERD, Hayward Street, Eeatherston, a ladies’ 9 ct. gold octagon-shaped wristlet-watch, Roman numerals, black ribbon wrist-band with three platinum squares on it on each side of watch, set with diamond chips, gold clasp attached ; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Levin. During the night of Bth ultimo, the shop of STANLEY WOKS FOLD, jeweller, was broken into and the following stolen: A gentlemen’s chromium-plated oblong Westclox wristlet-watch, Arabic numerals, chromium-plated expanding bangle with wide square links attached : total value, £1 15s. The offender threw a stone through the shop window doing damage to the extent of £26.

Wellington. 3oth July last, from the shop of JENNESS AND PARTRIDGE, jewellers, 72 Cuba Street, an 18 ct. gold solitaire diamond ring in platinum-tipped claw setting, millegrained steps, on which are set three small diamonds on each side of large diamond; value, £ls. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to two men — H. Turner (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-eight, height about 5 ft. 8 in., strong build, fresh complexion, hair inclined to be ginger, large crooked artificial teeth; neatly dressed; well spoken: and (2) name unknown, age about forty, height about 5 ft. 8 in., medium build, dark complexion ; well dressed in dark clothes and felt hat. The suspects were shown some rings in a room at the rear of the shop, where Turner selected one, saying that he would call and pay a deposit on it the next day. After they left it was discovered that the above-described ring was missing from its pad.

Wakefield. —During the night of the Ist September last, the dwelling of ANNA BEATRICE DANIELL, Brightwater, was broken into and the following stolen : An oval greenstone brooch, set in gold ; an oval blue enamel brooch, set in gold with face design in small pearls and hinged back; a large silver butterfly brooch; a small imitation dark leather case, containing two pairs of curved nail-scissors, a nail-file, a pair of tweezers, a stiletto, a small white bone pen-knife: total value, £3. Christchurch. —During the night of 19th August last, from a motor-car in Rolleston Avenue, the property of JOHN WILLIAM BURTENSHAW, 23 Thornycroft Street, a sixvalve Phillips wireless-set, No. 5259 on back plate, mantel model, Royalty No. 4527, model 636 P., pointer extends full width of dial; value, £ls 10s.
