Auckland. —28th January last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for four days in default of paying £1 13s. balance of fine and costs for being in possession without a license of an apparatus capable of receiving wireless signals, Sally Davis, alias Sally Karamaene, age thirty-one, height 5 ft. 3 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, dark complexion and hair, brown eyes ; a half-caste Maori. / / x

Auckland. 2nd instant, on warrant of commitment to Wanganui Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £4 arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Ernest Rhind, age fifty, height 5 ft. 9| in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, grey hair and eyes. Auckland. —18th ultimo, on two warrants of commitment to Auckland Prison for two days on each in default of paying £2 10s. fines and costs for driving a motor-cycle without lights, and driving without a license, Maurice Larkin, age about twenty-six, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, tanned complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes wealing cream-coloured trousers, blue shirt, red and white blazer, and black tan, facings. Auckland.- 27th January.hup!, for theft of a gentlemen’s brown suit, value £4 (recovered), the property of Joseph Daniels, 72 Federal Street, Heriiy Holt Paten, referred to in Police Gazette, 1935, page 194, and Photographs, page 8 ; wearing a blue suit and felt hat; rough appearance. Usually hawkes a preparation for cleaning clothes, and an ink manufactured by himself. Accused shared a room with complainant from where he stole the suit, and sold it to a secondhand dealer, giving the name Henderson. No warrant. Otahuhil— lßth ultimo, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), James Archibald Leslie, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, medium build, copper complexion, dark hair, brown eyes; a Maori; diving woman on right forearm, scar on right elbow, shield with “ N.Z.” and fern on left forearm. He has failed to report to a Probation Officer, and failed to pay Court costs. His arrest is desired. (See Police Gazette, 1932, page 221, and 1934, page 51, and Photographs, 1932, page 32.)

Hamilton.— Lawrence Vivian Fairhail, alias Reginald George Marshall, forgery and uttering : It has been ascertained by the Palmerston North police that the offender was sentenced to twenty-eight days and six weeks respectively for false pretences at Adelaide on the 31st January last, vide South Australian Police Gazette, 1936, page 119. Hastings. —2oth ultimo, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Joseph Lahccd, age twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 8 in., canvasser, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, large nose, scar on right leg and on nose. He has failed to make restitution, and he has also failed to report to a Probation Officer. His arrest is desired. He may assume the name Williams. (See Police Gazette, 1936, page 105.) /o/6/3&.

Palmerston North.- 28th October last, that he may be interviewed regarding the maintenance of his son, Thomas Hulena, in the care of the Education Department, Sebastian Huiena, age forty-six, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer and butcher, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark complexion and hair, grey eyes, mole under left eye. He has failed to report to a Probation Officer, and his arrest is desired. Wellington. —For escaping from Porirua Mental Hospital on the 24th ultimo, Walter Harold Porter, age thirty-five, height 6 ft., native of New Zealand ; wearing dark-grey tweed ward clothes and ward slippers (no hat); weight 15 st. 3 lb. — 3/6/3 & Christchurch. 2sth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Paparua Prison for six months in default of paying £4-57 19s. 6d. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Myrtle Brown, Allen James Brown, age forty-six, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer and shearer, native of Australia, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, slovenly appearance.
