Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Lindsay Nelson CoSes, age about twenty-seven, height about 5 ft. 8 in., farm labourer and hotel porter, native of England, slight build, pale complexion, fair hair, blue eyes ; poorly dressed ; smart appearance, talks quickly, and fond of drink. The suspect, who was employed on complainant’s farm when the offence was committed, has been interviewed, but denied the offence. He has since disappeared, and it is desired that he be interviewed again. _ > . . .

Auckland. —23rd ultimo, from a veranda at 40 George Street, Dominion Road, the property of HAROLD HILDITCH, a 1926 model 2f h.p. overhead Velocette motor-cycle, engine No. K. 447 S., two upper fins of cylinder-head broken, a gear-box, carburettor, generator, magneto, clutch, ignition, and throttle cables, exhaust-pipe, battery and bracket, cylindrical footrest, brake-lever : total value, £25. Engine and portion of accessories identifiable. The motor- minus the abovedescribed parts, was recovered in Winstone’s Quarry, Kingsland, on the 25th ultimo.

Auckland. Between 23rd January and 31st May, 1934, from the Strand Theatre, Queen Street, the property of CAMPBELL, EHRENFRIED, AND CO., a snare drum, a full set of Liberty chimes, and a tambourine, all of which form part of a Wurlitzer organ: total value, £54 7s. 6d. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Louis Meyers Toomer,M(ge about thirty, height about 5 ft. 9 in., musician, slight build, ruddy complexion, black sleek hair parted in centre, black or brown eyes, natural teeth (gold-filled in front); shows teeth when speaking; smart appearance; jaunty gait; Jewish extraction; well-dressed and usually does not wear a hat. The suspect, who was employed as manager of the theatre at the time the offence was committed, has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted. He is now believed to be in Sydney, Australia. If he returns to this Dominion and is located, he should not be interviewed until the file has been obtained from the Superintendent of Police, Auckland.

Papakura. —On the 2nd instant, the dwelling of GEORGE DEATH was broken into and the following stolen : A cheque for £37 4s. .7d., No. B. 5640, drawn on the National Bank of New Zealand, Hamilton, in favour of George Death, and issued by the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Co., Hamilton; a fine-check brown suit, size 5, with “ Meltzer, Tailor, Hamilton ” on it; and a navy serge coat: total value, £47 12s. 7d. Cheque only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man 'fname unknown), age about thirty-seven, height about 5 ft. 8 in., strong build, ruddy complexion, full face, black hair turning grey, prominent upper teeth ; dressed in Palmer nap trousers, blue shirt and collar,, dark-blue tie, „ well-worn black shoes (no coat or hat). A man of suspect’s * j description was seen entering complainant’s gateway, and he was carrying a fibre-cane suit-case, size about 14 in. by 18 in\ \ by 6 in., with strap around middle. \

Kerepeehi. Between 24th and 26th September last, from a grader on the Kerepeehi-Wharepoa Road, the property of the HAURAKI PLAINS COUNTY COUNCIL, a Bosch magneto, fitted with impulse starter, wound clock-wise, serial number commences with C.J.; value, £2O. Identification doubtful.

Te Aroha. —Between July and 21st October last, from the farm of FRANCIS JAMES HENRY, Te Puninga, eighteen dark and fawn yearling grade Jersey heifers, registered earmark “ Tapered Block ” out of tip of each ear; total value, £63. Identifiable. - .

Petone. During July and August last, between the Orongorongos and Lower Hutt, the property of GILBERT BLAIR, Norton Park Avenue, Lower Hutt, a -303 calibre M.L.E. rifle, body No. 3569, barrel No. 5941, bolt No. 9448, stock No. 5742 ; value, £2 ids. Identifiable.

Wellington. —lßth October last, from the factory of JAMES PEARCE, Oak Park Lane, nine ladies’ machineknitted woollen cardigans, fawn, brown, green, and red, some open down front, others pullover style; six ladies’ machine-knitted woollen pullovers, in blue, fawn, and brown ; four maids’ machine-made woollen jumper suits; a ladies’ dark-green summer cardigan, strapping around neck, long sleeves; a ladies’ yellow summer cardigan, fancy stitch (all have a label at back of neck bearing the words “ A Masterknit Garment ”); and a large English telescope, object lenses slightly damaged and covered in wood easing, while other lenses are in brass casino-: total value, £22. Wharf (Wellington). —Bth ultimo, the blacksmith’s shop, Eryatt Quay, the property of the WELLINGTON HARBOUR BOARD, was broken into and the following stolen : Two oilskin coats (recovered); a pair of well-worn dark cord trousers, right cuff torn at back ; a dark-brown woollen pullover, long sleeves with holes under arms : total value, £1 11s. Identify able. Suspicion is attached to Robert John Aitcheson fetid Jeffrey Francis Evan Turnery referred to in “ Absconders from State Institution” this issue.
