Auckland. 2lst ultimo, for a breach of his probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Ernest Andrew Manchester, age fifty-three, height 5 ft. 7 in., dealer, native of New Zealand, medium build, sallow complexion, grey hair, blue eyes, clasped hands on right forearm. He is to be arrested and sentenced on the original charge, which reads : “ On the 10th December, 1933, at Auckland, with intent to defraud, did obtain from William Prudhoe the sum of £1 10s. by false pretences, to wit, by falsely representing that he had received a wire from his wife at Christchurch, and that he wanted the money to proceed to Christchurch that day by train.” He has failed to report to a Probation Officer. On the 16th July, 1930, the first named left the child at the Salvation Army Home. He then gave his name as Reginald Arthur Ledwith, but it has since been ascertained that his name is Henry John Thompson.
