PROPERTY STOLEN.

Auckland. 23rd April last, from a safe in the office of the Peter Pan Cabaret, Lome Street, the property of ENTERTAINMENTS, LTD., £126 in money, consisting of banknotes and silver. Not identifiable.

Auckland. —18th ultimo, from a telephone cabinet at the corner of Wakefield and Queen Streets, the property of RUTH JAMIESON, 4 St. Paul Street, a brown leather purse, about 5 in. long, with red leather lining, clasp at top shaped like a half-moon, containing a gold ring, set with five diamonds in claw setting ; and a gold ring, set with a solitaire diamond in claw setting : total value, £ls 2s. Identifiable.

Auckland. sth April last, the property of CHARLES WALTER CEDRIC WENHAM, Te Kawa, a wallet containing a£s note, three £1 notes, and a 10s. note. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Jack Greenwood, alias Charles Thomas Greenwood, age about forty-three, height 5 ft. 9 in., medium build, florid complexion, dark hair turning grey and going bald on top ; dirty teeth, one on each side of front upper jaw decayed ; wearing a brown check suit, brown felt hat (the crown of which has lines of sewing all over it), and tan shoes. Complainant gave the wallet to suspect to look after for him, and he disappeared with it. He is also suspected of stealing a watch, value £4 15s. (recovered), and £1 cash from Kathleen Kerr, 239 Great South Road, and also obtaining £1 by false pretences from her.

Auckland. — the 29th March and Ist April last, from the s.s. “ Waimarino ” between Wellington and Auckland, the property of the UNION STEAMSHIP CO., a wooden case containing 100 lb. of Silver Fern fine-cut tobacco in 2 oz. tins ; value, £56 ss. Not identifiable.

' Auckland. Between the 19th and 20th ultimo, from the dwelling of WINIFRED MURIEL RHODES, 33 Onslow Road, Mount Albert, a ladies’ 9 ct. gold Buren octagonal wristletwatch with black ribbon wristlet attached; value, £5 ss. Identifiable.

About the Ist October, 1934, the property of ARNOLD EDWARD RHODES, 27 Beach Road, a f-ton Ford motor-van, 1924 model, blue with black mudguards, registration No. L. 1647, engine No. C. 183 ; value, £l7 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Two Young Mon (names unknown), height about 5 ft. 7 in., slight build, fair hair; both of similar description and wearing khaki bib overalls ; one: of the suspects gave the name Church. Suspects obtained a loan of the van from complainant, and failed to return it.

Epsom.— 4th May last, the property of BERNICE ALICE McPHEE, 4 Selwyn Road, a ladies’ blue leather purse, (recovered), containing an open-face silver Baume wristlet-watch with leather wristlet attached; a gold open-face Swiss wristletwatch, No. 784080, with gold expanding wristlet attached; a gold engagement ring, set with five diamonds in straight claw setting ; a gold ring, set with five diamonds and five rubies set alternately ; nine keys on ring ; sundry papers ; and £1 Is. 6d. in money. Identifiable except money. . Complainant left her purse on the running-board of her motor-car, and subsequently discovered it was missing.

Blenheim. — the 15th April and 2nd May last, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Defence Department), seven rubber ground-sheets ; two body (horse) brushes; two curry combs; two brown saddle blankets; two tan leather bridles ; a tan leather surcingle ; eight grey blankets, &c.; all branded “ N.Z. A Defence ” : total value, £l2 18s. Bd. Identifiable.
