Devonport.— the 31st January, 1921, and 4th January last, the property of CECIL HENRY HOVERD, a •22 calibre single-shot Stevens rifle, No. P. 231; value, £l. Identifiable.
Auckland. —Between the 29th and 30th December last, the dwelling of JOHN COLEMAN, 16 Morrin Street, was broken into and the following stolen: A gold open curb double watch-chain, similar to Illustration No. 24 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 2; a gentlemen’s brown leather purse, containing papers in name of complainant; and £1 10s. in money : total value, £4. Auckland. About the 6th December last, from 424 Manukau Road, Epsom, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Defence Department), a military trumpet, made by Henry Potter, England, marked No. 1, 1918, and broad arrow, straight dent in nickel mouthpiece; value, £2 ss. Identifiable.
Auckland. Between the 29th January last and 4th ultimo, the dwelling of HILDA MARY JACKSON, 14 Woodley Avenue, Remuera, was broken into and the following stolen : Twelve pairs of bloomers ; six petticoats ; four nightgowns ; seven ladies’ vests (the above-mentioned articles are all marked “ H.J ”).; two woollen bed-jackets; three pairs of double sheets, marked “ Johns ; a pair of fawn hose; and a xylonite clothes-brush : total value, £2O. Identifiable.
Onehunga. lsth January last, from 29 Turama Road, the property of MRS. S. STANDEN, a barometer, about 8 in. in diameter, wood carved ; value, £2. Identifiable.
Wairoa. On the night of the 2nd ultimo, from a room in the Ferry Hotel, the property of WALLACE DOUGLAS YOUNG, Southampton Street, Hastings, a gentlemen’s brown coat, fancy serge material, size 4; a soft collar with brown stripes; a brown tie with yellow stripes; a white dust-coat with tear near pocket on right side ; and £5 7s. 6d. in money: total value, £B. Clothing only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Mari (name unknown), age about thirty-two, height about 5 ft. 7 in., medium build, fair complexion, believed to have ginger hair; believed to have been wearing fawny-grey coat with trousers of a darker material.
New Plymouth.— the 31st January last and Ist ultimo, the dwelling of LANGLEY HERBERT PEPPERELL, 312 St. Aubyn Street, was broken into and the following stolen: £8 17s. 6d. in money, including a half-crown dated “ 1817.” crown only identifiable.
Hawera. ROBERT BENNELL’S dwelling broken into : (see Police Gazette, 1934, page 427) : It has been ascertained that Albert Locker, referred to in Police Gazette, 1935, page 78, was concerned in the commission of the offence, and when arrested for a breach of his probation it is desired that he be remanded to appear at Hawera so that he_may be interviewed. fljdu O£ 3 $ -OftHtow* 2'

Palmerston North. — January last, from the Cafe de Paris Hotel, the property of JOYCE HAVILL, a folding camera, German make, takes size 116 films, spirit-level attachment above lens, attachment on lens to have shutter adjusted before each photograph is taken; value, £5. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Jock. Wellington. — On the 21st January last, the shop of PETER MIET, 125 Vivian Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A gentlemen’s nickel Omega pocket watch, case No. 3403505 ; a gentlemen’s nickel pocket watch, case No. 72 over 359 ; a gentlemen’s nickel pocket watch, “M ” on movement, M over 30.020.47 on case; a gentlemen’s silver pocket eight-day watch, “ Hebdonnas ” and 615400 over T on case; a gentlemen’s nickel pocket watch, movement No. 111195 ; a gentlemen’s “ Eros ” nickel pocket watch, Brevet 51828 on movement; a gentlemen’s silver hunting pocket watch, made by Ehradt, London, No. 6Z5307 ; a gentlemen’s nickel Innes Railway lever pocket watch; a gentlemen’s nickel Sirdar pocket watch, Swiss make; a gentlemen’s pocket watch,. “ Stewart Hardware” lever; a gentlemen’s silver open-face keywind pocket watch, “ Maker for Royal Observatory ” on dial; a gentlemen’s open-face silver watch; and a ladies’ gold open-face wristlet-watch, English numerals, leather or leatherette ribbon attached: total value, £5 Is. 6d. Portion identifiable.
Wellington. sth ultimo, from a telephone- at corner of Mersey Street and The Parade, Island Bay, the property of LILIAN SUSAN WALKER, 25 Derwent Street, a brown crocodile leather purse, size about 5 in. by 2 in., clip fastener, four compartments, containing Roman Catholic silver medallion; a gold ring, • set with five diamonds in platinum claw setting, diamonds tapering in size at each end, slight flaw in middle diamond; a Christchurch tramway ticket; two five pound notes ; and eleven one pound notes : total value, £lOl. Ring and purse only identifiable.
Dunedin. Between the 23rd and 24th ultimo, the dwelling of WILLIAM HUNTER WILSON, Gordon Road, was broken into and the following stolen: A fawn dining-room carpet with black and orange in it, size 10 ft. by 9 ft. 6 in.; a brown and orange bedroom carpet, size 9 ft. by 6 ft.; a hall carpet, blue oval design with green tinge, size 24 ft. by 30 in.; an eight-day electric chiming clock with oval face ; a small pink marble alarm clock ; twelve hearth rugsone tangerine, four rose-pink, two brown with floral design, one blue floral design, two to match hall carpet, and two plain blue; an electric kettle, Speedy make, red handle and legs ; a crystal jug ; a number of dishes, &c. : yfcotal value, £lO5. On the 22nd January last, the dwelling of ANDREW HAMILTON FAIRMAID, 7 Highgate, Roslyn, was broken into and the following stolen: A ladies’ fawnywhite monkey-skin handbag, size 14 in. by 8 in., scenic design embossed on flap, three carved ivory elephants on front, green dragon on back, zip fastener ; a black and green metal cigarette-case; a fruit knife; a small monkey-skin purse; a ladies’ black patent leather handbag, size 10 in. by 7 in., lined with black silk brocade ; and £3 7s. 6d. in money : total value, £l2 7s. 6d. Identifiable except money.
