Auckland. —On the 2nd instant, the dwelling of the REV. GEORGE ARCHIBALD DOUGLAS SPENCE, Birdwood Crescent, was broken into and the following stolen : A ladies’ 18 ct. gold Swiss Rotherhams wristlet-watch, “ J.M.G., 1923,” on back of case, gold-coloured face ; a brown mottled Conklin fountain pen ; a brown mottled Conklin pencil; a gentlemen’s navy-blue serge suit, size 5, made by H.B. Company, Dunedin; a gentlemen’s brown fine serge suit with slight check, made by London Tailoring Company, Dunedin; and an old fibre suitcase : total value, £3l 13s. Identifiable.

Identifiable except money. The rings were returned to the complainant through the post.

New Brighton. —Between the 4th and 9th ultimo, from 383 Pine Avenue, the property of : FRANK SIMPSON, a double-barrelled breech-loading shot-gun, 12 bore, No. 91184 ; value, £2. Identifiable.

Timaru. Between the 11th September last and 11th ultimo, from 12 Rolleston Street, the property of JOHN KEEN, a -22 calibre Stevens repeater rifle, No. 954; value, £1 ss. Identifiable.

Palmerston. —29th October last, a hut, the property of JOHN McKEAN, Shag Point, was broken into and the following stolen : Five pairs of gentlemen’s heavy brown woollen socks ; and £47 10s. in money, consisting of seven £5 notes, twelve £1 notes, and 10s. in silver : total value, £4B. Suspicion is attached to — Moorhead, age about forty-two, height about 5 ft. 6 in., rabbiter or labourer, medium build, fair complexion; roughly dressed in dark coat and trousers, black boots, and felt hat; carrying two swags : (2) Lawrence Cox, age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 8 in., seaman and labourer, medium build, sallow complexion ; wearing a small black beret (no coat); carrying a small tent. The two suspects were in the locality at the time the offence was committed, and if located they are to be interviewed.
